Good food and different beers! Love this place! Try the traditional fish and chips and read the history of the house which is very interesting :)
Cozy Brit Bar with local food. Fish & Chips were ok due to small portion. Sausages were very good. Interior decor was very interesting

Food was ample and very tasty. My friend had the sausages, and the flavour was marmite and cheese, well I can tell you they very tasty.
The pub is very old, nice and clean.
The service very prompt, polite and attentive. The salt & pepper squid with tartare sauce was very nice and a good portion for £6
I enjoyed the Roasted pork porchetta. The potatoes were delicious and the portion was big. The vegan nut roast they said it was ok, the rest of the roast very good for the vegetarian.
If you are not fun of the gravy remember to ask them when ordering as it comes on the roast.

I just happened to be in Southampton for the evening for a overnight and a cruise the next day. This is a quaint old pub in Southampton that we tried. We enjoyed the fish and chips, and a sampling of the fine beers offered here. The service was excellent and the staff very friendly. I highly recommend this place.
Was here a year ago & loved it. This visit was the same - Best beer battered cod in the world, nice set of taps to choose your liquid refreshment, and a typical pub atmosphere 🇬🇧 👍 (see the pics).

We had a lovely time at this pub near the port. We arrived a bit too early for food, but we’re happy to have a drink before the kitchen was open. The staff were friendly and attentive and it was the perfect place to get over our jet leg.
This is a lovely pub with that old world charm. We spent a few hours here with friends. They have a good selection of beers and spirits. We didn't have food but it looked decent from what others were having.
Superb back street boozer. Fabulous array of ales for the discerning punter (hello there!). Roaring fireplace and an ask for Clive thing on the door. Terrific.
Traditional English pub. Due to close location from Registrar's Office it is a point to have a pint or more before or after wedding official ceremony.

We were over in Southampton from the island and intended to eat at the Dancing Man, but they were fully booked. My wife asked the waitress for any recommendations locally, and the young lady recommended the Duke of Wellington. Well, what a find, a really lovely old fashioned pub, great service, very good food (excellent roast) and a good range of beers. Definitely going to be our go-to pub in Southampton.

A beautiful historical pub just off of Southampton city centre . The fish and chips were delicious. Rusty & the rest of the staff were very friendly. Can highly recommend.
What a lovely friendly pub. Food was amazing. They went through menu and asked about allergies. I am gluten free so was lovely not to have had to ask about this and feel like a pain!!
A lovely choice of GF food and off main menu too. I had the pie and mash and sticky toffee pudding for dessert. 7 mins from shopping centre and very much worth the walk.
Staff were all happy and welcoming.

Busy pub. Good choice of real ales. Service very good. Food is good pub fare. On the small side, tables limited in number and ,oddly, people choose to stand - right in front of the bar and door! Worth a visit.
