Love this place , The food is excellent , really tasty . The staff are lovely and friendly and they always do their best to accommodate .

Had an over night stay. One of the best places I have stayed whilst away on business. Food was excellent. The locals who use the pub are great characters and are very welcoming.

This place is amazing. I stayed here for an evening in business and it was a great experience. The food was excellent, the decor is wonderful and the hospitality is unmatched.
Had a beautiful meal on Tuesday night...14 of us in total and we were somewhat slightly noisy (sorry!) but that was simply because we were enjoying ourselves so much Thanks to Kim & Alex who were kind enough to make our celebratory night so special and to the chefs who created the most delicious food xx
A nice find, in the back and beyond of Reading! Very nice lunch; we arrived rather late but they fitted us in cheerfully. Unusual and quirky setting - very much recommended.

Stayed overnight at short notice. Supper was great and the staff and service were friendly. Pub is dog friendly and even allow dogs overnight in the rooms. Just as well as the boy got a bit over excited in the bar whilst I was having my supper and allowed me to eat in my room. The ham, egg and chips were excellent as was the salt and pepper squid starter. There's a Nespresso machine in the room although it didn't seem to work in the same way as my own. A nice bed and the boy and I overslept. Lovely little village location too. It was the first time I can recall visiting the village although I must have driven past the entrance frequently.
Lovely rustic old pub with bed and breakfast rooms too. Rooms were nice . Thin walls so you here the neighbours a bit but to be expected in a building of this type.
Food and service was excellent.

Steak burger tastes fantastic. Excellent fat chips, salad and coleslaw accompaniment.

We had a fantastic Sunday roast for seven for my wife's birthday. The staff were very attentive and the food was delicious. I would definitely recommend and will go back again when we are next in the area.

Popped in here Fri eve for a spot of dinner. We shared a starter, and then had the venison pave and mussels. Food was all very tasty and well prepared. Atmosphere is really pleasant in the Perch & Pike with a dining area, as well as a pub area so its not too loud. My only advice is the portions are a good size so make sure you're hungry!!

Super pork medallions in apple sauce for me and my husband enjoyed his feta and watermelon salad. And as for the puddings - really scrummy - cheesecake and Eton mess.
It was good to get an americano coffee in a large cup, so many places serve them in cups so small you get about two mouthfuls!
The staff who served us were helpful and friendly.

Wow! I was with a party of visually impaired ramblers and sighted volunteer assistants for our Christmas lunch today, 30 or so of us. We pretty much all agreed that it was the best Christmas dinner we had ever had (outside of a home environment maybe). The food quality, quantity, service and value were all amazing. The best, no doubt.
Really wonderful place to stay. Great food, huge breakfast and really helpful staff. Everyone went out of their way to accommodate us and itโs a lovely locally run place. They even brought fudge and milk to our room late at night - so thoughtful and unexpected! Would definitely stay here again.
A lovely pub in South Stoke close both to the Great Western Mainline and is on the main road which is coincident to the Ridgeway National Trail so a great place to get refreshments and use the facilities. There is a large beer garden as well as seating at the front.
