Aug 2023: Harbour Lights has reopened under new management, the owners of Log Fire Pizza Co van. They are currently open for drinks & have the pizza van outside which you can take in. The pizzas were delicious & under £10 each. They said for now the pizza van is open from 4:30pm until they run out & the inside kitchen should be open soon.

Very warm, welcoming and friendly staff. Although we didn't eat there this time the food looked fantastic. The views over the Tyne estuary, out to the North Sea, looking over South Shields, Fish Quays and Tynemouth, are amazing. Would fully recommend a visit.

We really enjoyed the food here. The nachos were the best we've had since moving to the UK 1.5 years ago! The fish in their Harbour pie was cooked perfectly. Very friendly staff.

Great find at top of headland, walking up from sea front. Friendly staff and good local atmosphere. And the best fish and chips - hot and golden, dry and crispy, home made mushy peas and tartare sauce. Tasty batter puffed up and falling off succulent, really tasty cod. Will actively seek this out next time. Maybe even parking up there and walking down to the beach. Oh, did I mention the excellent view from their large front windows? And at night you see the Harbour Lights.

Location is the star here and some nice young ladies behind the bar. Great views out over the Tyne mouth. I could settle in the window with a decent pint and watch the sea for a couple of hours easily. I had a good pint of Oakham Citra on my visit. Cheers

Great place the beer was good service a bit slow compared to the last time in there, but other than that it was good.

Great pleasant pub that serves good selection of beers, wines etc. Staff are very welcoming and friendly and food is excellent. Not a regular pub l visit but when l am in town and fancy a good tasty meal with good atmosphere and lovely views then this is the place l go. Always greeted with a smile and never have to wait long for a nice cold pint. Food is worth waiting for as l am told the cook is a 5 star chef and you can tell once you taste your meal absolutely scrumptious. Sunday dinners are almost always fully booked so need to book in advance unless your lucky and someone's cancelled. It's handy location means you can go for a stroll along beach or through the parks to burn off them unwanted calories or work up an apatite before your meal. Overall highly recommended and worth a visit. 😁👍P. S my niece enjoying the views on the Canon outside pub lol.

Had a lovely feel to this pub, and I will be back.... I hope. But unfortunately after 6pm the menu turns to tapas, and those choices were a little too exotic for the 80yr old lady we had with us. Well, armed with that information we shall arrive earlier....... or I shall just enjoy a nice pint in what seems a nice pub.
