2nd visit to El Tio and it didn't disappoint. The food was lovely. We had the chilli cheese poppers and chicken wing starters, followed by the Mexican chorizo burger and the chicken, bacon and cheese burger both of which are served with chips and salad. The burgers are beautiful and a bargain at less than £6. El Tio is easily one of my most favourite places to eat in South shields.
Me and my partner tried here on Saturday night was lovely food was really tasty and I would recommend the Mexican chorizo burger propa homemade burger was huge my partner got the chicken burritos he says they were really nice and we were to full for dessert would definitely go back excellent customer service

Booked a large party of 16 for a joint birthday this evening. The place itself is lovely, the food was delicious and the staff were so friendly and helpful. Definitely be returning!

1st time trying this place tonight, we got a takeaway and it was beautiful! Got chicken enchiladas, stacked potato skins with chilli and Mexican rice! Can't fault it, 2 of us were stuffed! Excellent!!

My husband and I visited last night, the food was excellent. Good choice of wines and great to see healthy items on the menu too. We will certainly visit again and with the children as it’s a great dining experience for families too.

We visited tonight and it did not disappoint! We started with 2 Piña Colada’s and had Nachos for our starter. For mains we shared a selection of the Chimichanga’s, Enchiladas and Quesadillas. Every single mouthful was a different flavour really took our taste buds for a ride!
Would definitely recommend giving this small business a try, you won’t be disappointed!

The most delicious Mexican food we’ve ever had. The beef quesadilla was incredible and so tasty. We’d also recommend the pulled beef potato skins and the chilli poppers for starters. The cocktails were delicious too. Akram, the host, was so attentive and friendly. And the atmosphere was really good, authentic and warm

Outstanding food! Fantastic staff! Considering we ate here when they were very busy following the GNR, they were very accommodating. They got us a table right away, were friendly, attentive, and the food was outstanding. Thank you

The Mexican pizza and chicken chorizo pasta was delicious, but I did get food envy when the sizzling steaks were brought out for another customer the smell was divine!
The rum cheesecake was the best cheesecake I've tasted.

The food was really delicious , absolutely loved the chilli enchiladas and the taco very beautiful flavours and taste. The burritos was also a must try.
Food was very enjoyable and hosts were attentive. Everything was flavourful and cooked skillfully with our order arriving in good time with ample rest between courses. The atmosphere is warm and the decor compliments the experience without becoming tacky. Overall very enjoyable and can reccomend to all without hesitation.
A brilliant tex MEX that is much needed in South Shields it's wonderful to have another option for food choices that isn't just chip shop or Indian food. The staff here are wonderful, the atmosphere is fantastic and always relaxed. And the food is 10/10 delicious everytime
