First trip to indigo after a friends recommendation! What a superb meal we have just had! Special menu and great portion sizes! As for customer service this is the best I have had in a long time eating anywhere. So friendly and take an interest in your experience, my husband who is ocean road born and bread said it was the best curry he has had on ocean road in a very long time. Observed the manager going round and speaking to every table making sure they were enjoying there evening and food! 10/10. Would highly recommend!!!
We visited the Indigo as a party of 13 to celebrate several family birthdays. We all ate from the Special menu which starts from £7.95 for starter, main course, rice/chips, coffee/ice cream. With a wide variety of dishes, and the option to pay extra for king prawns etc there was something for everyone.
When you have a party of this size, many restaurants would struggle to get all the dishes out at the same time, to a consistently high standard, and to the satisfaction of all the customers - but not the Indigo!! Everything was absolutely 'spot on'!! Customer service was at just the right level - helpful without being intrusive. Left-overs were boxed to take away and the youngest guests supplied with lollipops.
There's a fair bit of competition on Ocean Road - we've eaten at most of the Indian restaurants and this is the only one we return to again and again. Thanks to Mr Choudhury and all the staff for another great evening!!
Love going to Indigo, had a fabulous meal last night, I was torn between 2 curries could not decide so was given a small portion of each one. Staff are very friendly and take time to check that customers are pleased with their meals.

Love the food in Indigo. The staff are always friendly and never pushy. The menu is great and the service is always quick love it . It's our favourite curry place in South Shields and we com over from Sunderland

Ordered from here last night; chef started to make the wrong curry we were informed so we're provided with original order plus on extra curry free of charge. We weren't disappointed, curry was amazing and will defo be ordering here again, purely by chance we hadn't ordered from our original place-but glad we tried this. Thanks for freebie! �

A friend recommended indigo and we've been going over the last 3 months trying several different meals from their menu. The food is delicious and the guys are very friendly without being overbearing. We have also recommended it to other friends and family and they have all said it is spot on . . . . Highly recommended

My family and I were craving Indian food while we were visiting South Shields. Ginger Indian Street Food was one of the highest rated restaurants that I found online so decided to give it a try. It's now our new favourite! The food was sooo tasty and very well made, lots of options on the menu, and the set meals are really good value for money. I had the grilled fish as my main and I was pleasantly surprised at how tender and tasty it was. My mum had the Lamb Bombay Railway and it was extremely tender and delicious. Really can't say anything bad about the food. Best of all, service was excellent. Really helpful and polite staff, great ambience. Wish nothing but the best for the owner and staff. Looking forward to our next visit!
Excellent, authentic Indian food, the tastiest we've had for as long as I can remember. The staff are passionate about their food, in particular their signature dishes, some of which have spice mixes unique to this restaurant. Friendly, efficient service, a couple of tables in a quieter area away from large groups, and a lovely atmosphere. Outstanding.
amazing customer services the Anwar (staff member) was extremely friendly and always has a smile, the food tasted good next time I would ask for the pani Puriii to be abit more spicy and same for Samosa chaat the veg shingara chaat was amazing lovely flavours the lamb karaii was on point took guest from out of town (3 hours away) and they loved it and will come again next time they’re here!!!
Great Indian street food. All the food was full of flavour and good portion sizes. The staff were very helpful and accommodating. Would recommend for the various options available and you can have the traditional curries if you prefer that. Will be back soon.
Not yet attended this restaurant but am very much looking forward to it. My mate goes about 3 times a week and refuses to go anywhere else, and he even looked into getting his wedding catered from you guys. Keep up the good work lads.

Our mate got stuck in south shields due to the floods but thankfully your restaurant saved him from the floods. He used to not be a man of curries before he met his wife but she converted him and he now swears that ginger Indians is the best around. Great establishment 5/5 without a doubt. 👏
I've never had a bad experience at ginger, the food is fantastic, they take great care when it comes to dietary restrictions, even swapping out ingredients at request, and the service is second to none. Best restaurant in South Shields!
High quality food with excellent service. The menu has many "new" offerings as well as more traditional meals.
You will probably wonder about the "new" meals, but have no fear as the ones I have tried for the first time are tasty. Have no fear just read the menu & try something different from your normal meal.
Well worth a visit & the staff are very attentive & happy to offer advice & explanations. If you consider all of this & dine in lovely surroundings, I am sure you will enjoy your meal & evening out.
