Such a beautiful quaint country pub, a real gem, with fabulous staff, so very clean and wonderful food. A beautiful beer garden to relax when the sun is out.
I had my mums wake here to, Mum would of really lived the day, they even got a cocktailtender in for the evening.

This place deserves more than 5 stars. Excellent service, all staff are friendly and very attentive. Food is brilliant, very good value for money, always hot & cooked to perfection. Selection of beers, wines & spirits.... spoilt for choice. The Christmas menu is also a must!!
Lovely country pub, full of character. Unfortunately the live music was far too loud to have a conversation. It'd been great if there had been somewhere quieter. Definitely going to tryout the restaurant.

Went to a funeral wake at this pub found it a bit expensive but food was good and fresh staff very pleasant.
I held my 60th birthday party at The Royal Oak last night (21/12/2019) and cannot thank Jane and her team enough for the service they provided. The dining/function room was perfect as was the buffet and the staff were very attentive and friendly.....a perfect evening, thank you.

Love the setting, love the history of the place, beautifully decorated restaurant and great food make this a place where you can just have a drink or feel like it's a treat to eat in the restaurant and enjoy the lovely dining experience. Would recommend it to anyone as it's more than just a pub.
Lovely pub, been recently refurbished. About the only nice bit of Ockendon.
Never seen any trouble in there, since new management have had it which is a couple years now, they are particular that they only allow decent clientel in there. I would highly recommend it. The staff are lovely and friend
A quaint pub with comfortable seating and on site parking. Prices were reasonable however the pub only accepts cash and not card. There is a cash machine a couple of minutes walk from the location.
