Booked in for Sunday Lunch and glad I did its a fantastic place with great staff run by Helen who knows how to run a restaurant.
It's not a massive restaurant but it's very cosy and the decor is really relaxing and done lovely. It also has a lovely decking area with a pagoda over it with heaters which is perfect for small gatherings like a baby shower like the one that was being held on the day I was there.
We had a two course Sunday lunch which was very tasty and served by friendly staff. The roast beef was cooked to perfection and covered in grave which topped it off a treat.
Will definitely be back again and would highly recommend this little gem.
What a little gem!! The atmosphere was just lovely, very relaxing, chilled vibes. But the food was incredible, every dish was just delicious 🤤
The staff were excellent, wonderful service, we will be back for sure. Fabulous evening.
A very nice restaurant with excellent surroundings. The weather was good so they were able to open their patio style doors and we were able to enjoy the outdoor space at the back of their restaurant while we dined.
The food was first class; everybody in my group commented on the quality of their dishes. The Fox is a small establishment and there was 14 in our group but they were able to bring all our dishes to the table at the same time.
My only problem was finding a parking spot when I arrived. There are only a few parking spots at the front of The Fox but the staff do try to help you find a spot.
If the weather is nice then get to The Fox a little earlier and have a drink in their beer garden.
Cosy warm and utterly delightful. If you want to feel like you’ve been invited into someone’s home with open arms for dinner, just with much better food than you’d ever expect, then here is the place! The atmosphere is relaxed and calming, with the buzz of friendship and unanimous excitement. The word that comes to mind is lovely. A glass of wine is simply a necessity here, as well as all 3 courses and good company. The staff were wonderful, attentive just the right amount and always having a smile, even going above and beyond with service, noticing my partner was about to leave her seat briefly, so waited for her return to serve the food. Small detail, but it’s things like that which really make the night special. The menu is somewhat limited, but provide enough variety to showcase the best of local ingredients to charm anyone into the impossible decisions of what to have and what to regrettably pass on. The food was gorgeous by the way, everything about it spot on, with portion sizes being just right, and everything being all you could ever have hoped for. This is one of those places that seems to go unnoticed when you drive past, but is definitely worth a stop! Even just for coffee and a pastry that they put on of a morning. Everyone is welcome here, and everyone should go in my humble opinion.
I was looking for a good roast on a Sunday, this came up but it wasn’t rated at the top.
It should be.
I picked here because of a photo I’d seen of someone else’s meal. I had the same and can say that this is a superb roast dinner.
We had bread and olives to start which were lovely. We had our little ones dinner come out ahead and tried that which was super tasty. Then ours arrived and it was everything you’d want in a roast. Potatoes were crunchy but fluffy, beef was soft and flavoursome. Gravy was rich and the veg and Yorkshire were yummy.
Cauliflower cheese is also really good.
A lot of places miss the mark when it comes to a great roast because they’re just not good enough or they’re trying to feed too many people in one go. This place has it spot on.
I will say that we parked opposite In the pubs car park, there are a few spaces out the front but you will be lucky to park there. That is the only element this place doesn’t have but the food makes up for it tenfold.
Really nice relaxed atmosphere with little nooks to talk and drink. But also a nice family atmosphere, our 1 year old enjoyed herself.
Would recommended, and I’m looking forward to trying breakfast and lunch there. No
Lovely food, beautifully presented. Would certainly recommend the hay smoked duck breast starter, the pork belly, gilt-head bream, and the baklava desert.
Visited for an evening meal. Very nice place relaxed atmosphere. Staff are very good and look after you all night. All 4 of us had the 3 courses for £45. The meals look like something out of a cook book. Really well presented. Started off with bread and oil, which they make themselves. We had the hay smoked duck as a starter. Cold served but superb. Main was pork belly again excellent. To finish baklava which is quite big but really nice. My wife had Bream which again was excellent. Will definetly go back soon.
The food, the service, the decor, all deserve a 5 star rating. Highly recommend eating here. We look forward to eating here again in the future!
Had a fantastic evening at The Fox. From start to finish, the whole experience was amazing. We had the Beef Tartare to start with the Beef bourguignon and Roast Guinea Fowl for main ( absolutely divine ), then the Apple Tarte tatin for pudding. All of the dishes were incredible and we are so luckily this restaurant is on our doorstep. We will be back, again and again!
Another excellent meal at the Fox.
The food was superb and very good portions for hungry customers😊. Compliments to the chef for the quality and presentation.
A very pleasant restaurant run by friendly attentive staff.
