Have been using the Plough for many years and have rarely had a bad meal. We normally book a table here as it can get very busy. However, yesterday we were passing and decided to stop off for lunch. Although we had promotional code for 40% off main meals, we elected to select meals from the daytime menu. I had the beer batter fish which I upgraded to haddock. My wife had the lasagne. Our server was polite and friendly and attended to us quickly. Our orders arrived within a satisfactory time period, both were well cooked and tasty although my wife found the lasagne, chips AND complimentary salad all a bit too much!! No complaints from us on portion sizes though LOL. Will definitely be using the Plough again as still got few days left on promotional code.
One small criticism, my beer was flat and cloudy but it was quickly replaced (probably had had the the first pint of Pedigree that day.) Keep up the good work
I must say I visited for some food yesterday.... and all the staff were so welcoming polite the food was incredible.... I would recommend this beefeater as it's the best one I've been to.
My wife and I had a lovely meal with very efficient staff who were very helpful with all the information as my wife has an allergy to gluten, I highly recommend this restaurant.
Went yesterday night. The steak meal was lovely. The best steak I've had in ages. Definitely go there again.
Celebrating mums 81st birthday (17/10/23)
Our waitress was at first a bit offish at first as I asked if we could change where sitting due to mum having trouble sitting as no leg room.
Once ordering she did cheer up and gave great service , food was excellent.
Another member of staff did help bring food to table but oh my how rude was she !! (I am pretty sure she was a team leader or maybe management, didn’t catch her name)
Considering we were a table of 6 people her service was unacceptable as one member of booking politely asked if she could had her eggs on gammon changed to runny eggs as hers were well over cooked….. we were spoken too very sharply. “Well did you order them runny !! “. Our reply was no as didn’t think too and member of staff just gave us a look !!
All the years of going to this restaurant and never had a problem with staff before.

The breakfast spread at this BEEFEATER is extremely varied, lots of cereal, juices, pastries, bread, I chose the full English, it was hot , freshly made and cooked just right.
Our host Charlotte was able and capable, it was a very session with lots of people, she was a natural host.
I go here quite a lot for breakfast and lunch. Food is generally very good. Breakfast is excellent value. The service is really friendly and efficient.
Great breakfast with my family. The 2 kids eat free per adult breakfast is fantastic value. There’s so much choice and it’s all freshly cooked to order. The continental selection was a hit for the younger ones. Great service from the young woman with blonde hair and the head scarf.
Visited The Plough on Thursday afternoon at 2pm .It has been about 7years since we last went there. On entering we were greeted immediately by Donna and Shawn to a table . The menu is varied but not so much choice that it takes too long to choose. when ore meals arrived they were hot and very tasty .
Service was excellent, efficient but not ingratiating . We did have an offer that gave us 1/3 price reduction on main menu food but even without that Iwe consider it good value for money
Well what can I say...
The chef here is a genius... I've not met a chef yet that has managed to deliver a steak that was this close to borderline perfect.
I ordered a 24oz T.Bone cooked medium but no blood... This steak was amazing without a drop of blood all the way to the bone.
For that alone I've given this review 5 stars.
The service from the staff was great and the other dishes were also fantastic
My partner's Haddock and chips was delicious 😋
We were a party off 4 and all the food was great....
I would strongly recommend to the management that more chips should be added to the high value meals..
my £25 T.bone was seriously lacking chips guys
It's not a high cost item and anyone ordering a large meal wants to leave full & feel it's good value for money... Yesterday I had to nick some chips from other people in our party !!
From experience the lamb chops are to die for at beefeater but have been excluded from the new menu and also the mixed grill options have change so I was more than a little disappointed on arrival as that's what my partner had at the last venue while on our holiday and wanted to repeat this order for her birthday meal..🤨
The prices on the new menu were a little high but signing up on the website gave us a 25% off food.... (You need to wait 3 days for the discount to arrive by email.)
However If you also sign up for the free rewards card this should give you another voucher for 50% off another food order and the rewards card seems very user friendly where points are concern
5 points per £ and 500 points to a voucher so every £100 spent should get you a voucher
however it wouldn't complete the registration on my phone and i haven't been able to successfully do it to date ☹️
It really pleased me to see the staff systematically cleaning the menus as that it a real downside of most pub chains.
I would happily recommend this beafeater... But for value I'd go on the website and sign up for discounts before attending.
We saved £19 but the 4 meals and 3 drinks was still £68 so special occasion not every day for us.
Photos show the food and cleanliness of restaurant
A big well done to the chef but a little heavier on the chips next time please guys 😉
😎😎😎
Amazing food, brilliant service, but then when a place is as popular as this is, then it is to be expected. Friendly atmosphere and the staff are all amazing 👏
Was staying at the Premier Inn and decided to pop in for dinner.
I cannot remember the burger I had, but it was amazing.
And on the side they had some salad which had a dressing that I have never tasted before it was very nice too.
The bun wasn't toasted to a crisp like most do, and the meat was perfectly cooked.
The host was well mannered and very polite.
The pint of Coke was expensive though.
We arrived and were standing waiting for about 10 minutes being completely ignored by 2 members of staff, who walked past us twice with not so much as an acknowledgement. We were about to leave when a lovely waitress called Donna saw us and came over to greet us and show us to our table. The food and desserts were great but it was Donna who made it a lovely experience by the way she was warm, friendly and attentive. If it hadn't been for her we would have walked out. Thank you Donna. You were rushed off your feet yet you were pleasant and helpful. I hope your managers see this and reward you accordingly!
Dispite the fact the poor waitress was on her own this is by far the best Beefeater we've been to. The food was amazing, perfectly cooked and seasoned, well presented and hot. The waitress was cheerful and helpful, apologetic even though it wasn't her fault. Give your staff a raise and enough staff to cope when you put special offers on so if one phones in sick they're not left on their own dealing with a busy restaurant. Well done to the lovely bubbly Hannah
Stopped off on our way home from Beaulieu, 7pm Sunday, place was half empty but we were made to feel it was difficult to find a space. Waitress was friendly enough but service was painfully slow food order took over an hour to arrive, there were at least three kitchen staff just watching the screen. Our food was lovely, steak nicely cooked, chips nice and fluffy.
The restaurant seemed short staff as both staff and manager were occupied on arrival, but it wasn't a long wait before we were seen too. The staff was friendly and welcoming. We didn't have to wait too long for our food. The meal was nice, cooked well especially the steak.
