The German Cafe - Solihull - Photo album

I popped in here on Saturday for some breakfast with my mum as we were getting the bus to Stratford and we were half an hour early. I live in Kings Heath so hadn’t been here before. I LOVE this cafe! Quite possibly my favourite cafe now. The decor has a Scandinavian/Christmassy feel. It was really w
I still remember coming to this little place when it first opened many moons ago. The people were as lovely as I remember them to be and the food was spot on. The schnitzel was perfectly done and the chips were golden and crispy. The bratwurst roll was also amazing and a perfect afternoon snack. If
Lovely. I live locally and have passed this place hundreds of times. Finally popped in this morning. Had a bacon and sausage sandwich, which was really nice. Served by a very pleasant gentleman, who was also preparing all food for customers in the cafe as well as delivery orders. He seemed to be cop
As a local Postie Ive been walking past this place up to 6 days a week for over 2 decades, I finally ate here 15/1/23 with a friend and wasn't disappointed. The premises is cosy and clean, staff very helpful and friendly without being too "full on" and the food was excellent too. Plenty of choice, v
I've been meaning to try this place for a while, and to be fair the food was really nice. I really enjoyed the currywurst in the spicy sauce. The chips were thick and crunchy too. For me the bit that detracted slightly was the portion size of sausage, as a main dish, I would have liked more.
Fantastic food you can see the cook takes pride in their food and presentation. Mushroom sauce I had to try it on the side, it was a great compliment. Nice glass of wine and they had chilli sauce tooooooo.
Let me quote my gf after we sat in the car "wow, this was the best food" and she's the more fussy one. We had schnitzel with mushroom sauce and it was amazing. Only two members of staff on busy day, every table full plus delivery drivers picking meals every 10-15min, frankly we were surprised how we
This is an absolute gem of a place! We came here for lunch on a whim and have now been back several times. Menu is well thought out and balanced, food quality is excellent (made fresh and it really shows), prices are reasonable and the service standard is friendly and professional. Our experience ha
Only popped in for a coffee but found it to be a hidden gem! Who knew that on the busy Shirley High St a calm oasis existed. Situated next to the big pet shop its well worth a visit
The German Cafe is like Weihnachten to Cafe Shirley's Christmas i.e. they are one and the same. There is definitely a Christmassy feel to The German Cafe. The outdoor seating looks so comfy, draped in false animal skins. Inside the theme continues. There is a range of false animal busts hung upon th
Very delicious! My husband had currywurst and I had weinerschnitzel with sauerkraut. So delicious! My husband was so excited to have the currywurst. The chips were nice and crunchy on the outside. It's a very cute little restaurant too! The server was very nice and smiled the whole time. I highly su
Popped in to pick up a breakfast sandwich, price wasn’t cheap but definitely worth it. Great quality bacon & sausages. Will definitely return.
I absolutely love German food and schnitzel. This place makes the perfect example. The Bratkartoffeln(German fries) was also lovely Feels very authentic Service was also spot on Will definitely 100% visit again
Perfectly cooked and beautifully presented, the best full English anywhere and in a German cafe of all places. A lovely little gem worth going out of your way for.
Came in for the schnitzel, and was not disappointed. Food came out fresh and fast, even for our group of five. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a great German lunch.
I tend to get the same dish on each visit, but for a good reason! The Jägerschnitzel is very authentic and tasty.
