Excellent food, lovely atmosphere and fantastic staff, whats not to like! We enjoyed a lovely meal here for lunchtime sitting in the beer garden under the shades was a perfect way to keep cool. Lovely selection of food and drink in a beautiful setting. We will be back!

Came here to stay and celebrate my other half's birthday. We've eaten here before many times but have never stayed. Rooms are lovely and clean and have everything you need. Ensuite shower rooms excellent. Food for our meal was excellent as was breakfast - would highly recommend 👍

We had a wonderful lunch at The White Lion on 5th November for our mother's 80th Birthday. Alan and Izzy could not have done more to make it a more special meal for 22 of us. The food was excellent and we enjoyed exclusive use of the back room overlooking the garden. Cannot recommend highly enough. Many thanks.

We loved our stay at The White Lion! The old church down the street was an unexpected delight! The countryside around it is beautiful! The beer is excellent! The only thing that could make this place better is if it were called "The Prancing Pony". :-)

Excellent meal!! The best food we have had in a long time. Pie of the day was delicious, and came with veg and potatoes / chips. Reasonable price too £14.95 Kids menu is small but the food was great and a huge portion. Service from the young waitress service was excellent, friendly, knowledgeable and interacted with our son. The best bit though was the puddings..... OMG. The cheesecake was incredible.

Our walking group booked in here for lunch after a walk through the Meon Valley. Pub very busy with another walking group. We had been here before Covid and pub been updated and redecorated. Prebook advisable.q Lovely country pub with varied menu and loved for local pies. Sadly parking a problem so car share if possible.

We had Sunday lunch here in the restaurant and it was great. All the food looked and tasted delicious (2 roast beef, 1 roast lamb and a prawn linguine, followed by syrup sponge and custard, apple crumble cheesecake, and strawberry ice-cream). The alcohol-free Gordon's gin is good too. The two young men who served us were pleasant and efficient, one readily agreeing to an extra portion of custard with the sponge pudding. The setting in the middle of Soberton is lovely, next to a green, with an outside eating area under parasols. The only downsides are the lack of a car park (parking on the road can be a bit tight if it's busy) and the occasional biker who feels the need to rev their engine by the front door before setting off (but there's always one - and it's not the pub's fault!). We'd definitely recommend and would return as the food was so good.

Lovely lunch here on Sunday with my Mother in Law. It was her first time here, my third and I’m already coming back for more. Absolutely delicious food and staff are even better, love the fact that it’s independent. Keep doing what you’re doing. 😊

We came here for a meal after my husband saw it on a list of 100 best pubs in England. It’s a lovely quaint village pub, the food was good. We had the Camembert to start which was the best Camembert I’ve ever had, followed by the chicken Kiev. We were a party of 7, all the food was great quality and the staff were impeccable. Lovely afternoon spent there

Love this pub and it's friendly feel. Had a great roast dinner here with all the trimmings...Friendly, relaxed and the kids can go and play on the green or in the garden... thoroughly recommend a visit here!

Beautiful little place with friendly staff and ‘proper’ pub food. I had a delicious chicken, leek and bacon pie (with pastry all the way round, not a casserole with a lid!) and my friend had a homemade chicken Kiev - both meals were really good and the cosy atmosphere meant we had a brilliant catch up.

What a brilliant 'Good Old English Pub! ' Friendly staff and a welcoming atmosphere. I had the most delicious Steak and Ale pie..Ever! (cooked in house by Liz & Tan) and an excellent pint of ale, brewed just down the road 🍺👍 Made my holiday, thank you 😁 Steve and Desirée

Popped in for a Saturday afternoon drink in the beer garden, after discovering whilst out. Definitely a hidden Gem. Lovely old fashion bar, chatty staff and dog friendly. They even do doggy ice creams. After looking at the menu we will definitely be back.

I lived in Soberton as a child in the 80s and me and himself stopped by to see the old jaunts. Such a beautiful inn with an amazing ambience. The staff and landlord were so friendly and helpful. The bed was one of the comfiest things I've ever slept in and the room was obviously newly done up and pristine. Beer garden was lovely and sunny. Food in the restaurant and breakfast was absolutely flawless with lots of options. Coming from Ireland we loved the public footpaths we don't have at home and enjoyed the plentiful walks. Popped into Hambledon vineyard which was not far at all for a sneaky sip of their English cuvée and fantastic views. Highly recommended for a hugely relaxing break away from the world!

Great classic British pub food. Nothing fancy, but nothing to complain about either. I had the burger which was cooked well and tasted great. Ide definitely recommend adding a sauce as it was a little dry but you can add that yourself with sauces they provide. All in all, ide go back again.

The food and drink at the restaurant were FANTASTIC! They are know for their pies and Kiev. My wife had the pie, I had the Kiev, both were incredible and lived up to their reputation. If we are ever in the area again, we will absolutely go back!
