We went to the restaurant for a private party. The staff were delightful and efficient but relaxed in a way that put one at ease. The food was brought to each table for us to serve ourselves after we had been told what was on offer. The mushroom sauce was particularly good! The location would be hard to beat: when seated, there are magnificent views of the river and reeds into the distance. The natural, unspoilt beauty is very restful. I'm just sorry I didn't take a photo but that wouldn't do it justice.

First off the good! The food, the food and drink are good quality and at a fair price. The location is beautiful and the place is relaxing and calm, clean and tidy. The only downside is the service is poor and seems displorganised. But it's definitely still worth calling in for.

Nice food and an almost reasonable price. Really excellent view (if you’re into that kind of thing). From recollection of a previous visit, booking a table for summer weekends is a good idea.

Loved it! Great food, great service and great views. Service was attentive and professional. The welcome was friendly and warm - and sincere! Food portion size was great, and so tasty - and excellent value for money. We'll be returning!

We came here for a piece of cake and it was excellent. Very generous, big slices of cake which were freshly made and very tasty. Highly recommend the carrot cake and coffee and walnut cake.

I’m baffled by some of the mediocre ratings. We went for lunch yesterday with our two children and it was just fabulous! Great food - they had a huge party upstairs but the service was really fast. The food was delicious, well cooked and service super friendly. Literally not one thing we didn’t like! We will be back

We had a very pleasant walk around the reeds and called in for a coffee and excellent carrot cake, the service was good polite and welcoming. The coffee is very good. Why the bad reviews I don't understand, and James byatt what a load of pompous tripe. I half expected Hercule Poirot to make an entrance in his novel... in a middle class way ofcourse keeping it simple.
