Had a delicious pre-concert meal lastnight. Bingham blue cheese and spiced pear salad to start was delicious, as was the main - slow cooked pork belly was so tender, perfectly crunchy crackling, dauphinois potatoes, root veg purée, tender stem veg cooked to perfection. Yum yum yum! Oh and the strawberry frangipane tart with clotted cream - reminiscent of a cream tea! could not fault it.

Had a delicious meal. Dressed crab to start, followed by beautifully cooked scallops on a pea, prawn and parsley risotto. Delicious.

An excellent pub, best food for miles, with very good staff who are attentive and helpful. Book a table, tour the Maltings shops or enjoy a concert, walk across the marsh to Iken and back - then enjoy your perfect meal. What a lovely way to spend a day.

We’ve just finished a week staying in the huge Dutch Barge in Snape Maltings. We had a few beers on the odd occasion here during the week. Of course 😉. Just had a lovely meal here on our last night wonderful food , good beer and decent Malbec. Staff rushed off their feet because it was far busier than usual on a Sunday night (fantastic weather perhaps?), but despite this, the service was excellent, and even the Chef had time for a friendly chat with us after it quietened down a bit. Can’t fault the place. A most pleasant evening.

Went here for dinner with friends. The place has a nice ambience and the tables inside were roomy and we didn’t feel cramped at all. Service was great. The food was nice, but just a couple if small criticisms. I thought it was a little on the pricey side for the portion sizes we received. The ladies had beef cheeks which, while tasty, were dry. I had lamb which very tasty but only a small piece of meat. We did enjoy the experience overall.

Really enjoyed our meal here. Visiting my sister and brother in law who live nearby we initially went in for drinks then decided to eat. the lamb steak with couscous was delicious, my wife had the cod in breadcrumbs, my sister had the burger and her husband the sausage and mash. Good heart fare well done at a reasonable price. Given that we both had a couple of drinks the bill was just £154 including service which wasn't bad. Would definitely return when next I the area.

We were very lucky to get a table at the end of a busy lunch service. The restaurant was extremely busy on our arrival, this had zero impact on the service and quality of the food. This was our first visit and will definitely not be our last. Congratulations to the team!

I've been here a number of times. The food never disappoints. It is upscale quality, and the menu keeps changing, so there's always new things to try. The staff is wholesome and friendly. The atmosphere is great, and you could go here alone and find really fun people to be around. In the picture is an amazing fish dish that tastes just as good as it looks. On point. Every time 👌🏼

Fantastic food!! We came here for Sunday lunch recently and the beef was out of this world. Staff are friendly too. I like a pub with charm/ ambience and this certainly has it. (There's a section that's dog friendly too).

Superb location on the Snape Maltings campus, this pub has a large spacious and pleasantly comfortable restaurant that always has a more-than-reliable menu and a good range of daily specials. I eat here a lot and have never been disappointed.

Nestled in the grounds of Snape Maltings, The Plough and Sail is a beacon of authentic British pub culture, offering a delightful haven for locals and visitors alike. From its warm, welcoming atmosphere to its exceptional service and amazing food, this venue has everything you could desire in a traditional pub experience. The place has a cool mix of old-fashioned charm and modern style, with local art on the walls and comfy seats to settle into. What's really special about this place is the friendly vibe. Wether you're looking for a formal sit down meal or a casual meet-up, the Plough and Sail doesn't disappoint. It's the perfect place to kick back and relax at Snape Maltings.

Eat inside or enjoy the beer garden outside. OK, it's right next to the road, but who cares when the sun is shining or on a summer's evening when the traffic is light. Good choice of beers...I would recommend The Farrier.

Lovely place to stop and have a lunch. Service was quick and staff was pleasant. They all wore face masks and were covid compliant.

Popped in for just a drink after shopping in Snape Maltings shopping mall. Service was excellent and displayed a large range of drinks. The decor is somewhat severe and out dated now as dark grey/blue walls quickly look cold and unwelcoming, hiding a multitude of dark areas that look unkempt. Probably in subdued lighting at night you can get away with this! But, daytime NO..

One of the most amazing Sunday roasts we've had. The beef tenderloin was cooked to perfection with some seriously delicious gravy. If we lived in the area we would be here frequently.

We were staying locally and had dinner here twice, both times the food was great and the staff very friendly and helpful. The beefburger and the fish and chips were particularly appreciated. It is a child friendly pub and welcomes dogs too, there's plenty of seating inside and out, though the outside is on a relatively busy road for rural Suffolk. There are 2 entrances one at the front and another at the rear of the building. We were delighted with our experience both times.

As part of a trip out to Snape Maltings whilst on holiday up this way, I went to the Plough and Sail for lunch with my girlfriend and a couple others, we hadn't booked in advance and as we walked in we could see it was absolutely packed but they managed to squeeze us in by the bar. Great service from the get go and the food was simply fantastic. I would recommend the restaurant to anyone! I would even go so far as to say I would come back on holiday up here and go out of my way to come back to this restaurant. Complete gem of a find, highly recommended you visit here!!
