Great food, really good value for money (Really Good), speedy service, I visited on Sunday evening after 8pm. Nice charm to the place, small and cozy. Staff were nice and professional. I had 3 veggie dishes, Paneer Manchurian, sauteed chips and oothapham (I think that's how it's spelt). Great Vegetarian selection.
Just been for some food here as noticed it as somewhere new. Thought I would log in to review them thinking they wouldn't have any reviews as they have only been open 8 months but they already have 76 reviews with an average score of 4.7. There is a reason for it as the food is fantastic, good prices also. I also eat a lot of Asian food and would say that the cooking is authentic. Hidden Gem. Definitely recommend.
The staff were really nice first of all. They greeted us and took us through the menu as it was our first time. We placed our order, got 3 starters to share. It looked and tasted amazing. Even though we were pretty stuffed from the starters we ordered 2 mains and again very impressive. And when the bill came and it all came to £16.something I was shocked. Well deserved tip. Going there again soon, and next time I will post pictures.
We came here for lunch, it's tucked away in the corner so nearly missed it. The food was freshly prepared, tasty and authentic. Service was polite and fast with complimentary dishes! Very enjoyable and highly recommended South Indian vegetarian alternative to the curry, balti and steak places in Birmingham.
Definitely highly recommend this clean authentic Indian restaurant to anyone. Myself and my family we love this place so much. All their food are best rated, do try the dosa as they are the best ever. I will rate this restaurant the best Indian restaurant in Birmingham for sure. Staffs are very nice specially the owner. Thank you so much for welcoming us like a family🙏😊
This place is amazing. They have all kinds of Indian , Punjabi, South Indian food. Their service is great and they speak respectfully. The food tastes amazing 👌. The only issue is the parking sometimes you have to park far and walk there but brilliant work.
Seriously, these folks are the real deal. Clean toilets always a good sign. Cutlery is clean, and I had a peek in the kitchen it was spotless. The food is brilliant. Plain dosa was great better still the coconut chutney is authentic. Plus they offer more chutney if you want some. The rasam was as it should be. Run by husband and wife. He does the cooking and she is front of house, and it shows. Lovely clean, fresh feeling when you walk in.
It's a great small restaurant very friendly staff. Food is really tasty especially South Indian dishes. We go there every few weeks for lunch n dinner without a doubt.
4 star for the male owner, he was really helpful and was a good conversation with us, but 0 star to his wife - the lady owner. She was fighting with her husband and created a big scene in front of the customers. We had leave the restaurant coz of her. Never went to this restaurant after that incident
First visit and no regrets, tasty food served hot. Brought the taste of real India in our mouths. Will definitely visit again. Staff was very polite and caring. Give it a go, very very tasty food.
Great place for south Indian food. Wad very quite on Friday evening, so service was super quick. Very generous quantity and filled me up with half food left.
Really nice restaurant. Food is delicious. Best dosas! And paani puri (gol gappe) I’ve ever tried in Birmingham. They do fresh mint in paani puri. Ideal for families and kids. Friendly staff. Prices are affordable. 5 star service. Can’t wait to go back again. Highly recommended!! 👍
Its a very nice place to eat amazing food with family or friends. I loved the dosa and all the other food i ordered the first time i came. One thing they should improve on is the timing but it is still fast but some people don't like waiting that extra few minutes
Such a lovely place. The owners of this place are so friendly both husband and wife have fantastic customer service skills. The food was delicious, fresh, and so authentic. Will definitely be returning. Grey food!
I have been eating from Chennai Cafe for a few months because their food is GREAT. I normally order the Jalfrezi, Biryani, mixed grill or the chicken Noodles done in an Indo-Chinese style, they all taste great. Today, I sat in and ordered the Paneer Dosa which was beautifully presented and, yes, very tasty. This was followed by a satisfying masala tea and paan which all had me in taste bud heaven! The couple who run it are so charming too. Highly recommended!
This was our first time there. We spotted the place by chance on our way back from the Balaji temple. Their Andhra style dosa spicy and lives up to its name. The uttapam was also nicely done. Lata, who runs the place with her husband also suggested their Panneer Tikka which also turned out to be a good choice. Happy to see another South Indian restaurant in and around Birmingham.
Such an amazing cosy outlet. Food is genuinely some of the best I’ve had. Owners are friendly and will make the food the way you want. Love this place. Good for lunch and dinner. Try the chilli coriander dosa😃😃
