I can't thank the Bear Tavern enough we were let down by a club at the last minute and we had to find another venue literally the day before the party. The lovely Sandra pulled out all the stops by arranging extra staff so we could hold the party there, and they worked really hard and even cleaned up for us at the end of the night. We had a fantastic night and when I want to book another party this place will be at the top of my list �
I have dinner there about 4 times a week the beer is always good the food is very good pub grub and the staff are great
4 weeks after a million pound refit ice machines still not working 35 degrees outside you got to go to local shop to buy your own ice but the staff work hard here and very friendly
Lovely plesent staff, the guy who brought my chicken strips over was so professional in calling me madam how lovely. Also was very clean Yep defo reccomend this place. And lots of space to get a seat

My friends and I attended the bear last night and we had a wonderful night. The staff were friendly, political and very helpful and the food was great, being bought out very quickly...will definitely be going again ��

The Bear Tavern is a fantastic venue, the food is brilliant, not expensive and the staff are friendly and courteous. We go every week with fantastic friends and look forward to seeing everyone. I can't praise it enough.

Realised I have not yet left a review for The Bear!
This is a nice place to come for food, drinks and just relax. When working from home often causes a need to escape the house, can always find plug sockets for laptops, phones etc and the WiFi is spot on too for everything could possibly need.
WiFi - 55.6Mbps download / 42.1Mbps upload speed according to Speedtest for my visit today at around 5pm.
Drinks - Always served cold and fresh. Even when gets busy, do not have to wait long at the bar. When working and need to crack on - the app ordering is perfect too. No problems at all!
Food - Spot on. I tend to go for the "Chick N Mix" for £8.79! Check the photo, its great. Lots of food, hot, fresh and tasty. Highly recommended!
Staff - Thank you everyone here for your great service, it really is appreciated to be able to have a friendly chat when often come solo. From the warm welcome at the bar, and to bringing the orders to the table is fantastic, will keep returning for as long as continues!
Atmosphere - Its a local sort of pub, but welcoming of everyone. Music as just the right level, pool tables, poker tables on some nights and quiz. A Gem of Bearwood!
Only one suggestion for improvement... There is a lot vandalism on the wall in the gents toilets.... How about paint the section in front of the urinals with chalk board paint, and leave some chalks to use on it? Would cost very little and solve the graffiti by "allowing" it. Just a thought, a banter wall - hope you consider it :)
Interesting point to note for those local and not... look up at the clock on the top. Only when doing this review today I noticed that there are bears all around it. The things you miss for all the years living around here until come to look closely.
Conclusion: Highly recommend this place to anyone for drinks and food! 5* all round.
Debbie one of the staff members really made our visit even better. She approached me so lovely with the best customer service skills. She was on top making sure our food was okay and happy with everything. Food was really good and for 2 meals for just over £10 you can not go wrong :)
I had a double beef burger with egg, bacon and cheese. It was really good and was about £10 all in. Came with onion rings and fries.
I had to make the comment to staff that it was one of the best burgers I've ever had. I think I was just drunk enough on an empty stomach (exceptional Slopian ale) that I over-shot in my enthusiasm, but only by one star.
Service was very good and always is in the Bear.
Good local pub on the whole.
I was there for a private party. My wife is disabled and struggles to walk. The staff were very accomadating opening side doors to make passage easier. They were all very friendly and welcoming. The upstairs room is divided into 2 rooms - both nice - but the back room was very comfortable. I didn't use the bar so I cannot comment upon it.
We come here for a family meal every few weeks & the service and staff are always amazing. Food is lovely too. Came for our nans birthday today and the lovely lady serving us with the long pony tail is lovely & gave us great service.
Highly recommend it, they change the menu now is to build ur own burger. Can choose one main and three toppings, really large size and definitely worth it.
If you know to order at the bar, the food is just really great. This was our first meal in the UK and it did not disappoint. Steak and ale pie, mash, fish and chips. Just really good. Great people too, thanks Josh and Taffey.
Wonderful place good food, came here today 10/09/2023, had steak was juicey and my son had gammon both meals were great, I keep coming here whenever I visit my son.
Staff are super friendly and polite something I miss in this modern world. You have to try the Bear Tavern.
Stopped in for a lunch date😍. Food did not disappoint compliments to the chef. I had the lasagne with extra cheese and no salad. He had the BYO burger. They listened well to our requests the for was exactly as we wanted. The staff was friendly we were served by Tara who was very polite. We will definitely be back. Considering this the first of many good dates at the bear. 😊

Great food, my wife was very pleased that you do a gluten free menu, not many pubs do, as she can't have any food with gluten in it, aslo friendly staff
Good service. This is my local boozer, it's always good when the bar staff know your order. Really friendly and fast paced. It's always a lovely place to drink all day every day.
Very friendly staff, food looked very good although I didn't eat, parking was not good but we did get a space near by.
Nice friendly local pub , went with the lads who I work with while we have been down in Birmingham, staff are polite and friendly will be going back in there
We had a lovely time for Mother’s Day.
Food was amazing, so tasty. We had an exceptional service, the staff couldn’t have been any more helpful, especially with accommodating to our two tables, and anything that was asked was not too much. The staff sat our tables together, offered help throughout waiting for food, and were extra kind to the kiddies, and especially reassuring and helpful to the little one giving her a plaster.
