Delicious. Just had cod, chips and pea fritters from here, delivered via an app. Cod was a little small, though I did order a small, the medium portion of chips was huge!! The pea fritters were very nice too. All tasted very fresh, and still hot on delivery. Recommended.

I always find chip shops a bit hit and miss when it comes to the fish. One night they might be great and another night ,awful. Tried the Plaice and Cod from Stoby's last night and they were... SUPERB!! probably the best fish I've had in 20 odd years and Stoby's are always Generous with their chips. Whoever was frying last night brought their a-game! absolutely faultless

I have been going there for few years now. Always the same great experience and great taste. This perhaps is the best fish and chips shop in Slough. Staff at Stoby's is very friendly and helpful. Parking is an issue here if you driving as there is no off street parking or pay and display. Also they gives chips really generously, even small portion is like bigger than large at many places So better to tell them for the amount you can finish without wasting the chips.

Original review marked with 1 star. What can I say except we are incredibly dissapointed with Stobys at the moment. We've been loyal customers for 20 years. I can personally vouch they were the best fish and chippy in the South East. But tonight we have had the worst fish and chips ever. Everything was over cooked. The store was busy with only one staff member working; he was taking everyone orders and trying too cook the food. No wonder it turned out bad. I have attempted to upload a picture of how bad it was. If Google uploads it, feel free to take a look. The batter is burnt and the fish dry, the chips are chewy and overcooked. This not the Stobys I know and love. Also their card machine wasn't working which is just mildly irritating but I can forgive that. What has happened to you Stobys? I don't know if my family will return to you. After the meal we've only half managed to eat.. Please sort this out asap!! I never complain but this felt like a waste of money and unpleasant to eat. EDIT: STOBYS HAS SINCE IMPROVED. I can verify that they took on board the negative reviews and made some changes. They're still super busy on Friday night but their quality in my opinion has improved massively. I'm still a loyal customer and unless they go back to serving burnt fish and dry chips, I'll continue to be a loyal customer. Keep up the good work guys. I have to give credit to the staff, Stobys is always super busy and I'm sure they get a lot of grief from their local clientele but they are genuinely descent folks working very hard in sometimes busy situations. I don't hold grudges and I'm glad I gave them another chance. All I can say is see for yourself.
