My family and I visited last night, 5 of us in total. The food was great and the staff were wonderful and helpful when discussing the menu, my daughter (6) loved the warm chocolate brownie with chocolate sauce. Would thoroughly recommend it

Fantastic place with amazing food and friendly, helpful staff. We have recommended this place to all of our friends for whenever they find themselves in the area. We will definitely be back (as long as honeycomb cheesecake is still on the menu!!)

Fabulous pub, staff so friendly and first class service. Delicious food, I had the seared tuna steak with salad and my other half the steak pie - fantastic! However the rhubarb Slingsby gin with blueberries was the winner! Wish I had this pub as my local

Yesterday (Sunday 28th May) we had an excellent roast Sunday lunch at the Grapes. This was followed by the Mini Fest which was on all weekend. A fantastic afternoon(and early evening!) of music and sunshine. It was a great atmosphere and the bands played to a packed audience. Amongst others #Malarkey played brilliant Irish folk, whilst #MaltonSchoolJazzBand were amazing! Added to this, the availability of barbecue food as well, made for a really entertaining day. The Grapes is a lovely traditional village inn with plenty of atmosphere , friendly staff and tasty home cooked food. Well worth a visit.....

Came across this stunning pub nestled within a beautiful village in North Yorkshire. Me and my friend immediately felt welcome upon entry and the interior of the pub has just such a homely vibe to it and has some amazing local beers on tap and their stone baked pizzas are one of the best I’ve had. The pub was so busy however the staff made sure everyone was served quickly and this made the stay enjoyable. If you visit this country pub you won’t be disappointed, we will be back.

Really lovely pub, with great outdoor space/garden with a space for over 100 properly spaced. We went during the day on Sunday and although they only had three BBQ items on the menu,( until 3pm when they serve wood fired pizzas), beef, chicken and veggie burger, we were not disappointed. We chose a burger and the butterfly free range chicken burger to share with our 5yr old. All served with chip with and upgrade to truffle and garlic on one chips. The burger was perfect served with home made bun and coleslaw and about 6 oz so enough for a big appetite, over 90/100 and would make me visit again when in the area. The chicken burger was even bigger at 8-10 oz and perfectly cooked tender and juicy. The prices are reasonable at 10 and 12 respectively and the chips again 9/10. It's a really nice environment, super friendly staff, not busy, has a several areas in the garden included ample covered space a gazebo with heater and fairy light. There is an outside bar which is fully stocked and has a billiard table. Worth the journey if you are visiting castle Howard or the arborium. No coffee or tea, which was a big shame since machines are so cheap now days...even a nespresso... Definitely worth a visit and detour.

Really enjoyable pub with lots of character - literally full of ornaments, maquettes, oddities and curiosities. Perfect for a game of eye spy with the kids! We had a great evening here with friends, and had food (pizza night) which tasted great, plenty of space and all reasonably priced, especially 'grumpy hour' where the drinks are £2.50. Dog friendly too.

Split into 3 main rooms each with their own extraordinary decoration, nice bar with local spirits and beers. The menu is varied and the food tastes amazing! Suggest it to anyone travelling through l.

We came here on a Sunday evening since we heard about great pizza and live music. We arrived at 7 PM and unfortunately they were already out of pizza and only had crisps and crackers to offer. We were already about to leave when a friendly couple from the table next to us offered to share their pizza - and it was delicious! So in the end we had a great evening with wonderful live music, good beer, delicious pizza and very nice conversations with friendly people in a good atmosphere. We can definitely recommend this place! But keep in mind that pizza is only served on Saturdays and Sundays from 5 PM - and better be early to get your pizza!

Lovely atmosphere, decor and food. With the great smell of open fires. Been several times over the years when visiting Yorkshire. I do miss the bar billiards table, mind.
