It is very hard to give a review after one visit but the experience was good. Friendly greeting, good beer and food was nice and hot. These guys have only been here since March. I hope they are successful in all they do.
We were just passing through to York from Whitby, a bit upset we were going to go to the Abbey but the weather decided we weren’t, however it was good we found this place, we had a carvery and it was delicious. They were incredibly accommodating for us two vegetarians and the food tasted amazing
The new team in charge are really wanting to make a difference and seem really great. It’s a great pub that is really popular with the locals and passers by
Came to watch football when on holiday in area. Pub looks unprepossessing but staff very warm, friendly and attentive. Relaxed atmosphere. Food: standard pub roasts with veggie options, but well done and veg really good. An excellent roast parsnip soup, great cauliflower cheese, good puddings to fol

Sunday roast was gorgeous and are going back on Tuesday for tea. Excellent customer service, you all should be so proud of what you are doing and are a shinin
The food was outstanding. Very well cooked and flavoursome. The Pork Belly Bites (a personal favourite) were slow cooked overnight and melt in the mouth. The reason for 4 stars and not 5 is that this pub didn't offer a bar service, but was table service only. This made the initial experience of be
Stayed a couple of nights. Friendly staff. Great value rooms. Food portions are great and all freshly cooked (breakfast is enough to keep you going until dinner). Everything competitively priced. Would happily stay again if in the area.
Had Sunday lunch here, highly recommend. Choice of Pork turkey or beef and also lamb with it been Easter Sunday All done just right Accompanied by dishes of veg and very creamy cauliflower cheese Good location with views over the Esk valley
This pub is great for food. There is great variety, including Vegan. The rooms are basic but very clean. It's a perfect location for the many venues in North Yorkshire. It's got a really friendly atmosphere, particularly the two servers.
Fantastic service from all Bar staff. We called in without booking a table . The Plough was very busy but we was lucky enough to get a table for Sunday lunch. Food was very well presented and plentiful... Could not fault anything..

A pre-arranged extended family meal of 3 generations. Two days later and we are all still talking about how much we enjoyed the meal, the pub , the ambience and the staff. This was an important celebratory meal and although it was a Christmas fare, was exceptional. Starters included, Ham hock terrin
Amazing is all I can say! We popped in after a trip to Dalby Forest for some tea and the food was delicious, I had the burger and it was great, a generous portion size too. My friends got a few starters for the main to share and they also looked amazing! We saw a few pizzas served to other tables an
Just good old fashioned Pub Grub is the best way to explain this eating place. Normally you will have to book as they get very full up in the summer months. The staff we found extremely friendly and accommodating. You cannot say more really than not over expensive. and food enjoyable, but not if you
