My sister and I took the kids here for food on Sunday. We didn’t know what to expect but we throughly enjoyed everything about this little gem. Now don’t be shocked by the size of the place, it’s tiny, only seats 16-20 dinners on a handful of tables. You defiantly need to book early! We did and then when we arrived there was a problem with the booking online and they didn’t have a record. Luckily they could squeeze us in and were very accommodating and friendly about the mix up. The interior decor is modern cowshed, drift wood walls and milk pale stools with cowhide seats. The open kitchen and the smiling staff greet you when you enter this architect designed modern structure balanced on the hill behind the village pub. The menu is as compact as the Resturant and strait to the point, a range of honest and inviting burgers with a vegetarian and chicken options too. Great selection or side orders and drinks menu. The staff were attentive, friendly and efficient. We had a chat with chef about the food when we paid the bill, he was really interested to know what we thought of the place. The burgers were delicious, juicy and packed with flavour, just the right amount of bun to patty ratio, you are able to add extras such as sauce, cheese and salad. The chips were ok, the onion rings perfection and coleslaw chunky and defiantly homemade. We didn’t ask to see the pudding options as we struggled to finish our mains. They had a really great outside area which wasn’t usable due to -2 but would be a super area on warmer days as they have heaters. We will be recommending Rumpus to our guests as a great place for lunch or dinner, the may need to start on an extension now!!

Our party of 6 went last night and had a fabulous evening complimented with THE BEST burgers we've ever eaten. We all got different ones so we could share accompanied with salt n pepper chips and halloumi chips both of which were spot on! It's a shame the dining area isn't bigger that's my only criticism but it didn't stop us having a lovely time. The staff were lovely and friendly. A little shining gem hidden away ⭐️

My god stick a fork in me! The Longthorn was to die for and the fries were superb. My daughter devoured her chicken burger in no time. The Halloumi fries with dip were delicious and the staff were friendly and efficient. If you haven’t been, try it - friendly and unpretentious you won’t be disappointed

Best burger i've ever tasted. Had the weekly special which was sticky beef and veg with water chestnuts and bamboo shoots on top of that delicious burger. Fries are delicious too. Its just a tad pokey in the dining area but its nicely done out.

Had an excellent burger and fries at the rumpus burger , When we arrived we were spoken to by the front of house host who was very friendly and welcoming although advised there would be no problem tables until later in the evening so we opted to take out , we went for the teriyaki fries and the chicken burger , both made with fresh ingredients the fries were crisp and fresh and the burger was full of nicely spiced chicken along with onion bhaji and mango chutney (something I’d never seen elsewhere but the flavours worked very well together ) ,overall I would highly recommend rumpus burger and look forward to going back again although be sure warned Rumpus burger gets very busy so you are required to book in advance to avoid disappointment. 5/5

Amazing experience! The staff are so attentive and keen to make sure nothing is missing. Lovely atmosphere and amazing food. Highly recommend this place. The quality of the ingredients is outstanding. One of the best burgers I’ve had! Great attention to detail down to the sauces which were delicious. The only minor tweak I would recommend is upgrading the fries and offering some Cajun fries.

It was lovely, waiter was attentive and really bubbly. Came here from a friend’s recommendation and they did not disappoint! I’m normally a no veg kinda guy, but the teriyaki fries came with broccoli and more greens on top, eaten without a second thought. Hogmeister burger is what we both had and we both really enjoyed it, would definitely come again or even get as takeaway if there was no seating!

I went for the Sweet and Spicy Chorizo Special Burger and the Dirty Hog Fries. Fries with pulled pork - very nice! Decent portion of fries and pork, nice flavours. The burger was not the best burger I had in my life but above average. However it was lacking flavour. There was a bit of the "sweet" but definitely not enough "spicy". Great service, quick, polite and attentive. Tiny retaurant, just couple of tables upstairs but the place is very clean an tidy.

Great food, friendly staff, good atmosphere. Rumpus is a small place, very intimate not good if you're in a wheel chair or need help walking as there are quite a few stairs to get to the dining area. But that is the only negative i can say about the place. The food was lovely and a good portion size. It was my daughters birthday so we brought a cake and after we'd finished eating it was brought up and the girl bringing it was singing. We did have to bring our own candles though (which they accidentally kept lol).

Came across this place a year back but they were unbelievably busy so had to take a rain check. Finally came back to test it out and was NOT disappointed. Can really see why people rave about it so much, ticks every box for freshness, taste and top service. A must try if in the area but do make a reservation if not wanting to be disappointed!

Everything we go its fantastic. Best burger place in England. Service 10/10, food 10/10 and great atmosphere. Make sure you book in advance though, gets very very busy (for the right reasons)

The best burgers! A regular treat when I still ate meat, and now I keep my eyes out for vegetarian specials which have so far been worth the wait! The meat and other ingredients are super local, and the resulting food is well presented and indulgent, with plenty of choice. The quirky building means it's hard to get a spot to dine in, but the one time I've managed the service has been ace. I've bought a Rumpus-branded thermal bag to keep my takeaway burgers hot - it's been well used...
