Called in hear Easter Sunday 2024, busy as there was a big football match on, with TV screens all over, served quite fast at the bar, my daughter had found a 2 seat table by the window, where we studied the food menu, went to order and was told at least a hour wait for food. decided not to wait and left. I did come to a wedding reception hear 1/5/15 and the meal was nice then

Great food served, very friendly staff and good environment. The only EBI is to keep an eye on the female bathroom my daughter is autistic and has difficulties to use the facilities due to the lack of cleanliness so I had to get in remove all papers from the floor flush the toilet and make a little bit more presentable for her to use it. So I guess having a staff member to constantly check the bathroom would give you a 5 star.

This was a top pub to get deals from, having 2 pub classics available on an offer that can applied more than once an order! I used this to get food for the group on my birthday party; my fish and chips meal was delicious with a refreshing cider. The staff were friendly, service was up to standard and the seating is large with comfort!

I think the red lion is on the up again, service has improved even though they do seem under staffed at busy times. There are no staff members hanging round the bar area like there used to be and it all seems more professional. The food was pretty good also.

Really dog friendly. Eve had little beds for them The food was excellent and reasonably priced. The staff were all good. There was a good range of Thwaites ales and bitters. All in all we had a lovely stay and went twice on a 3 night visit.

Shocking to see some pretty bad reviews as we never had any issues. First time being in Skipton for a special birthday. We called in for a few drinks on the first day and cocktails and I could smell an aroma of apple crumble. We had already had lunch elsewhere but I just couldn't resist and it was definitely worth it. We returned the day after to try the lunch after horrendous weather. The restaurant was packed and was 45 minute wait. I had the steak and ale pie it was delicious. My boyfriend is vegetarian and had the katsu curry first time in trying and said really enjoyed it. The meal came in less than 45 minutes and was worth every penny.

Was my wife's 50th family meal out at the Red Lion. Amazing,! The staff were brilliant all round and couldn't do enough to help at our table. The food was very good too. Made sure we all had a great time. Highly recommend.

This is a very inconspicuous pub which you might walk past but OMG what a beautiful place. I've been a chef over 50 years and this was the best meal I've ever had. Herby crust topped salmon amazing. Can't speak highly enough.

Popped in here for bite to eat when I visited skipton. Real nice pub and the staff were helpful and friendly. The food was lovely, generous portions and reasonable priced. It wss nice and clean and tidy. Had bit of sport on, rugby, yaaay love bit rugby me. It was on low in the background but it didn't spoil anything. Not sure on public transport becsuse I was just visiting. I do no it's got couple car parks not far from the shops and market place. Not far from the canal either. It will have wheelchair accessible parking also. Would I come back most definitely and yes I would recommend 😊 Beef and ale pie, broccoli and mash Katsu chicken curry, rice and chips 2 meals for £13.49 plus 2 pints coke £20.00 altogether. My kind of price 😊

Great family pub/eatery in the middle of skipton. Green king chain so good value food. Staff friendly and helpful. Food ordered at the bar with drinks, food came relatively quick. The pub is dog friendly with water available, they may even get a treat from the staff. Happy to eat here next time in Skipton a great 5 star place.

Green King pub at Castle end of the High St. I had a fine pint of Old Speckled Hen. Lovely inglenook but not lit in a mild spring day. Popular for food. Plenty of reserved tables for later in the evening.
