Just been for my Grandsons birthday meal, a party of 12. The food was excellent, very good sized portions and the service was first class. All the food was served together, in good time and with extra gravy and plenty of vegetables for those of us who ordered Sunday dinner. It was a lovely, cosy, relaxed atmosphere and the whole pub joined in singing Happy Birthday! Would definitely recommend.

Although closed when we visited, the lovely lady gave myself, My husband and our dog Lily shelter from the elements during a horrendous thunderstorm today.

Really nice homely pub with friendly staff. Stopped on our way to the valley of desolation and I think I had one of the best pie and peas I've ever had. All homemade and the beers great as well. Will definitely be stopping again in the future to try out the rest of the menu. Really worth visiting.

Fantastic place to stay, owners are so passionate about their pub , it shows through the food and ale they serve. Food was 9/10 , breakfast and dinner. Would highly recommend, and we will return.

Amazing little country bup, 12 great bears and couple ciders on offer, wines, gins. Really tidy. Landlord is a real cracker, funny guy. And great views from tables outside!

Stayed recently, Landlord and Lady were great, very friendly and accommodating. The food and beer was out of this world, especially the roast beef Sunday lunch and my roast standards are extremely high! The room was warm and the bed very comfortable, nice walks straight out the door, highly recommend.

Just had a three night stay at revamped New Inn. Owners have spent a lot of money and not cut any corners. Very welcoming and food and range of ales is superb. The New Inn has always lived in the shadow of the Craven Arms but is now set to give it serious competition.

Amazing ale! Many local brews, all pulled from wooden barrels, that the landlord painstakingly makes by hand. Friendly, helpful staff. I would describe the landlord as a bit of a character (he refuses to offer drinks in half-pint glasses, only pints!). I liked him, although, according to some reviewers, he appears to rub some people up the wrong way! :-) Limited lunch menu, when we visited: just three curry options. We had the chicken curry. Homemade, good size portion and tasted excellent! We'll definitely be going back.

Lovely old school pub. Run by a lovely couple (Sarah & Graham), who are real characters (as the pictures show) that have great banter, and are very warm and welcoming. Highly recommend an “old legover” - lovely pint 🤣

Can't picture a more ideal old world atmospheric pub. Full of nooks and cranies. Wholesome food with great service in beautiful surroundings.

Overnight stop for a group of 10 cyclists - great beer, food hit the spot - simple menu but good quality (and plenty of it), proper pub atmosphere, great hosts (sarah and graham), lovely breakfast - very nice rooms. We will be back one day soon I hope!

They're clearly taking this Dales pub back to its glory days. Huge investment made in craft beer (16 of them!), and the decor. Very traditional. It's beautiful, and based on the struggle find a table, more popular. We loved coming here years ago. Going to start finding the time to travel over again.

Myself and my husband visited on the 28th May. We came from Portsmouth to appreciate the Yorkshire Dales and visit some lovely pubs. The New Inn was extremely friendly and accommodating. We met Sarah and two other lovely gentlemen. We sat by the lit fire and they recommended some places to visit. Ralph (the dog) was gorgeous and came in to sit with us for a bit. We even played fetch with him 🥰. Thank you for wonderful visit. We shall return.

We stopped here for lunch after a short walk along the river from masons campsite where we were staying. We went to the pub down the road a couple of nights earlier and had a nice meal but with a frosty and rude reception/service. The contrast at the New Inn was striking....really warm and friendly welcome, great range of beers and a simple yet really attractive menu displayed on chalk boards on the wall with lots of tasty pub favourites to choose from. We went with beef sandwiches with chips and gravy, a steak and ale pudding with chips and mushy peas and for our son....who is incredibly picky, the friendly staff said they could rustle up an off-menu sausage sandwich for him which was incredibly helpful. The pub itself is cosy and quaint, a no frills but comfortable traditional pub. We were just hoping for some reasonably nice pub grub. After a very short wait, the food came out and was exceptional......way better than you'd expect from such an unfussy pub. The beef in the sandwiches was melt in the mouth, cooked to perfection with some of the best gravy I've had, excellent chips too. Our daughter wolfed down her steak and ale pudding....again, impeccably cooked and full of flavour. The sausage sandwich (made with home made sausages we were later informed) was excellent too. This place is a hidden gem and would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone either camping round here or passing through. We'll be making a separate trip back for their Sunday lunch at some point in the near future.

Graham & Sarah are the friendliest Landlords in The Dales. They do the tastiest gourmet toasties. They allowed me to charge my electric bike battery. I cannot recommend this pub highly enough. They open at 10:30 a.m., which is brilliant for cyclists & walkers. The food is organic, seasonal and tastes Heavenly. I can’t wait to come back! They also have beautiful, quiet ensuite rooms. It really is a best kept secret gem in The Dales.
