Great way to dine in a lovely Yorkshire pub! Just above the canal, in the middle of the lovely countryside!

Used to come here alot as a child, i remember being able to get to the canal without having to go thru the pub? However i did used to go when it was daytime. Couldnt see a path anywhere this time?
Dead good! Steak and ale pie for about £10, proper pie, clearly homemade and the gravy was delicious. Big portions too! They take a while to serve but it's a lovely comfy warm pub and they're really friendly. Highly recommended.
We had a great meal here. Food was hot and delicious, served quickly and with a smile. We got there about 5.30 so it wasn't massively busy, but by the time we left there were big groups of locals in eating and drinking, the atmosphere was relaxed and friendly. I would definitely return.
We came on a Sunday evening so ordered a Roast, but unfortunately they had ran out of roasties, so I changed my order and was not charged full price by way of apology. Nice inside, staff very friendly. Biggest bonus was that we could take our dogs in with us. Would happily visit again
Been here 2 or 3 times it's a big pub with beams and a stone flagged bar it has a large dining area. Copper Dragon beers are served and they are good. Nice pub grub - steak & ale pie, fish pie, sausage & mash etc plus a few veggie alternatives also have a specials board. Pleasant views of fields w
We called in for a drink whilst out walking and we're made very welcome in spite of our muddy boots. Returned later for food we are so glad we did. There was a good selection to choose from plus specials. It was very very well presented and good value for money. The logs fires were a bonus

I had the small fish and chips which was excellent and more than enough.
The service very good and all the staff were very friendly and really helpful.
The atmosphere was very warm, comfortable and relaxing.

Such a warm welcome from staff who gave us choice of table. 3 areas all with roaring log fires. Food ordered, so much mouthwatering dishes we'll definitely be returning even though it's about an hours drive from where we live. Well done Cross Keys staff.
This was our second visit (made whilst passing through) and the expectation was well met once again. The meal was superb and the service good, given that they were short-staffed. Even an additional side order (not actually on the menu) was catered for without difficulty. Recommended.
Called in for lunch today. Food was good quality and a reasonable price with a warm friendly service. A big selection on the menu and on the special boards. Great selection of real ales and wines. Definitely be back again.
Fabulous Luncheon, My Granddaughter Imogen, a recent Graduate after winning a Scholarship to The 3 Year RITZ Hotel, Chef Training College, said she could have eaten two lunches they were so delicious! High praise from an expert. Great service from friendly staff included.
The pub has recently reopened under new management. The food was excellent. The service was a little slow as they were understaffed but they were pleasant and friendly. We liked the atmosphere of the old building in a beautiful setting and would definitely eat there again.
