What a wonderful find. The views are stunning with the castle behind and Aaron across the water..then the food...what can I say..the best seafood so far of our trip around Scotland. Very fresh and tasty. Would definitely recommend.
What can I say other than amazing! Greeted to a warm welcome and advice on wine to go with our food, we ordered the seafood platter, oysters and queen scallops. Everything was delicious. The hot smoked salmon was some of the best I've tried. Scallops cooked perfectly, mussels were in a delicious broth, soaked up with good quality bread and some beautiful wine to accompany it all. Cannot wait to visit again 🙏
So happy that friends in the area recommended that we stop in here - easily the best seafood we've enjoyed the in Scotland and sitting outside in the sunshine to eat was the cake topper! Can't recommend the seafood platter enough, looking forward to stopping by again on a return visit. 🦞
Lovely, fresh seafood. Have a little stroll around the castle and on the beach, then set yourself down for a great feed. Had the platter, and everything on it was fantastic.
Awesome absolutely delicious scallops and salad my husband had poached salmon delicious meal in superb surroundings castle in one direction and Arran in the other xx
We stopped off at one of our favorite places and we were not disappointed. Obviously their speciality is seafood, hence the name, and they do not disappoint. Our 8 year old loves their kippers and my wife loved the salmon platter. Top place to visit, ample parking and fantastic views. Staff were welcoming and friendly and service was pretty quick. The smell of the seafood being cooked from the cabin wafted across the seating area, we will be back again when we head to this part of the country.
Great place, great view's of Arran the castle and the sheep, lambs and sheep dog. Food really good to.
Now, I'm not sure if I'm reviewing the castle - which is great ... and free !! Or the seafood cabin .. which is quirky .. popular .. and a tad expensive (for us, anyway, may not be for other folk). We just had a coffee, there were several tables taken, sun shining, beautiful.
The castle, which was our main quest of the day - loved it. Really only the outside walls, and a few rooms left to explore. Stairs, and roof walk which had stunning views. We parked outside the main gates, as instructed, about a 10 min walk to the castle, however, if there were mobility issues for someone you could definitely drive right up to the seafood cabin carpark, have a cuppa, and a walk round the castle. Also an old ruined chapel close by.
Absolute gem!!! Soo soo good! Got the seafood platter, coffee and a tea! Unreal! The coffee was good old fasion pot/filter coffee, no airs and graces, just good strong coffee!
The seafood platter was a game changer! Mussels were the best we've ever had! The sauce was amazing, eat it like soup after we finished the mussels! Loads of white crab, LOADS of salmon (a few different types), some sort of curried brown crab (we think) was really good!
All in all, DEFINITELY worth a visit!!!
Such a special place. We are here three times during our trip, I tried the mussels and scallops and it was top quality seafood cooked at its best, with simple classic sauces. Spectacular views all around and a glass of prosecco...doesn't get much better than this.
