Such an amazing bakery with amazing staff! So kind, thoughtful and attentive! Best donuts I've ever had in the UK and the pies are HOT and DELICIOUS!!! Will be back again and again!
Good tea and much better than average cakes. Well served. Sensible pricing. Very clean. Would be 5 stars but the furniture in tea and cake area is a little dated, but is in very good condition. Would recommend and will go back, no hesitation. 4 and Half stars.

Myself and my family have been coming to this bakery for as long as I can remember, mainly for the doughnuts which are the best doughnuts I've ever had the pleasure of eating, by a million miles!
Recently, my fiancΓ© and I came in to do some cake tasting for our wedding as we discovered that they did wedding cakes, and knew if they were half as good as the doughnuts then we would be onto a winner, and we were not disappointed!
The cakes here are absolutely insane! The best flavours and textures I've had in a cake, and we could not get enough of them. We tasted red velvet, chocolate, ginger, vanilla spice and carrot, and they were all so tasty. On top of that, Alison who was there to go through our options and assist us in our tasting gave such incredible service, made us very happy, and was very helpful to us. This bakery is very lucky to have such an amazing member of their team. All of the other staff members are also super nice and friendly too, but Alison was exceptional on our visit.
We grabbed a few savoury things on the way out (pies and sausage rolls) which again, no surprise, were amazing!
I come most Saturdays to get a couple of doughnuts, but after this visit I think I'll be adding cakes and pies to the order too!

Wow had the most amazing birthday cake from this bakery. Not only did it look amazing and professional, it tasted even better! Excellent value for money - I will never buy a cake from anywhere else now! All the snacks in there look fantastic as well. This will be my go to place from now on! I highly recommend!
Really nice filled rolls and cakes, why can't they open a shop in Maidstone., it's all we have is Gregg's mass produced greasy sausage rolls.
My favourite place to get a suguage roll. The meat is juicy and moist whilst the pastry buttery. A hard combination to crack. When I think of the perfect suguage roll Barrows is it. A bit expensive but it is worth it. The sprinkled donuts are the freshest in town. A town icon.
On a trip into Sittingbourne today I stumbled across this bakery, it grabbed my attention from the incredible cake display in the window! I'm not sure there's a pastry or cake that they didn't have... I ended up buying 9 cakes! I haven't eaten them all yet... Promise... But I can say that they are the BEST cakes I've ever had.
Let's get this bakery on the map, cannot wait to return π

Had the best ever corned beef and fresh onion roll I have ever had in my life. Also had a cake which was delicious. Top marks to a top bakery
You will not find a better place to enjoy a coffee and something to eat, followed by the best bread, sweet pastries and pies or pasties on your way out. A treat all round. I should add that we regularly buy the most delicious large wholemeal loaves that they then slice (medium is our favourite - or large which is quite chunky) - our choice to move from steam-processed supermarket bread is one of our best decisions. Medium slicing makes the loaf go further.
We had to order a cake at very short notice for our recent 50th wedding anniversary. The service from the outset was brilliant and the appearance and quality of the cake was superb. A big thank you to everyone at A E Barrow.
Visited for the first time today and got fresh made cakes and a ham salad roll. Friendly staff and a lovely bakery. Will be returning soon.
Traditional high street bakery that has been a part of Sittingbourne history. Has always made great cakes (I highly recommend the gypsy tarts if youβre not a diabetic), and the coffee shop in recent years is an added bonus.
Very good bakers, great staff, great shop, I used to buy them when they were up Weedswood in Chatham, but now come to Sittingbourne, not as much as I would like to, but cos they r great pies, bread and cakes I would walk 500 miles to get them people's simples ππππππππ₯―π₯π₯π₯―π₯
Barrows is a lovely shop and cafe, only the best for us.
