Had a very tasty meal at the cinnamon Tree. Staff friendly, polite and efficient. The restaurant was clean. To me that's more important than the decor.
Very happy with the food, really enjoyed it. Check your bill though!
I asked for an orange juice that was advertised as 200ml but I was given a pint. I pointed this out and they said they would only charge me for the smaller glass. When the bill came. There were two lots of drinks on it, Β£8.45 which was correct for a glass of wine and an orange juice, but an additional item for Β£9.45 was also on the bill. They removed this when I drew their attention to it.
I didn't leave a tip, which is very unusual for me. Good food, sad about the deceit.
Amazing food! Staff were lovely and welcoming! Couldn't fault anything. Highly recommend!
Excellent food and service, the staff were very friendly. Highly recommend!
This is the finest Indian restaurant I have ever visited.
Ahmed, the host, is a consummate gentleman, an absolute delight to deal with.
Highly recommended πππππ
Kazi Ahmed started this wonderful Indian restaurant some 18 years ago. A charming gentleman, who is genuinely customer focused.
Of course, particularly during these challenging times when there is a chronic shortage of reliable staff in the hospitality sector (the demand for hospitality staff is now so strong, according to the trade body UKHospitality, in February 2022 there were an estimated 394,000 vacancies in pubs, bars and restaurants), it's inevitable service may be a little slow when the restaurant is full.
I sincerely hope The Cinammon Tree doesn't suffer experiences I've observed in other establishments, namely people, who deliberately complain about every minor detail, then expect a huge discount or, worse still, walk out without paying at all. Shame on you!
And what's the problem with waiting a reasonable time anyway? Surely, it should be an enjoyable evening out. Time to chat and laugh about ourselves and the state of the world, despite the parlous situation affecting so many of us.
February can be a quiet month. Catering is an art form. I know from experience trying to predict customer numbers and budgeting for the correct amount of food is far from easy.
We had a very pleasant day out in Sidmouth yesterday. It was relatively quiet, but hopefully with the school holidays starting, business everywhere will pick up.
Clearly, Kazi Ahmed and his team are consummate professionals.
There was a wide range on the menu to suit all palates and a good selection of beverages. The food was delicious and hot. Ample portions. Compliments to the chef! Served with efficient politeness, without being sycophantic.
Spotlessly clean everywhere, including the powder-my-nose facilities!
No noisy musak that makes it impossible to be heard.
We had no difficulty parking.
There's a take away and home delivery service too.
Excellent value.
I recommend The Cinammon Tree most highly and wish the gentleman every success.
Great service, really fast delivery and the food was gorgeous. We had the King Prawn Purri as starters, which was the star of the meal. I had the Chicken Shamwala as a main and my husband had the Lamb Bhuna. The lamb was really tender and so was the chicken. Very flavoursome food all round. The rice and the Keema Naan was also great. Thank you for a lovely meal.
I took my elderly father and we received a very warm welcome. The Cinnamon Tree has a very friendly atmosphere and the staff were professional and attentive. The food was excellent and I highly recommend the Chicken Shorishawala! Cobra on tap π
The service was excellent they are really busy and it was early. had a takeaway the lamb biryani with extra green chilli was absolutely delicious the lamb very tender. You just have to be patient with them as they are under staff when we went.
Went too the Cinnamon tree, with the wife for our tea tonight, had read some of the reviews, about the place , and always like to find out for myself, i dont know what people want, the service was good and friendly, the food was excellent, and competitive prices, it cost less than we thought, enjoyable evening we would recomend it. Thanks stoke on trent.
Had a wonderful meal at this restaurant this evening. The staff were very friendly and polite. During our meal a couple were seated near us to which it became very clear they were not pleased about. There were many tables in the restaurant that were empty at the time, but were booked. The couple did expressed there frustration at the owner and his staff in a unfair way but I would like to say that the staff handled this confrontation in a very professional manner and tried to accommodate everyone in the fairest way possible.
Food was as excellent as always, service a bit hit n miss, the young lad serving was very stressed and rushed but good always good here.
After reading mixed reviews, we were not too sure what to expect. We went to the restaurant on a Wednesday but they were completely full because of the government discount. So we made a reservation for today, Thursday. The owner and his staff were very friendly and gave excellent service. I had a medium curry with chicken, mangopowder and aubergine which was very tasty, rich in flavour but not too hot as I requested. My husband went for a spicy one. He has been going to India for years, eating Indian food from all regions, he was very pleased with his and finished it all. The sag paneer was a bit sweet but that went fine with our curries. Cobra beer was fresh from the tap.
Great food. Great service. Cheerful and attentive staff.
Had a wonderful experience. Thanks for the testy food.
