We'd driven past here a day before and it looked like a lovely place for Sunday lunch. Well, it didn't disappoint on the inside either. We turned up without booking earlier today and the welcome was very warm and we were lucky to get a table. The carvery was amazing, the meats cooked so they melted in your mouth and great choice of vegetables. We couldn't fault The Otter Inn. Thank you for squeezing us in and for the great service. We'll definitely be back.

Great friendly pub - a little bit pricey but the atmosphere, decor & garden made up for it. Would recommend & visit again

Top marks to the new owners! Did a pub stop over in the car park last Sunday. £10 if you don’t eat there, we had a Sunday Lunch which was very nice, hot for one thing and good portion size good choice. Welcoming hosts and dog friendly even though we are not dog owners all seemed fine for those who were. Nice play area for kids and outside tables. Lovely park down a footpath for kids and keep going to join the river Otter riverside path wonderful walking.

We popped in here for a Sunday roast with the family and were pleased with the quality of the meal and the value. There were three different meats on offer for the roast and everything was well cooked, including the vegetables, which places often manage to turn into mush. In terms of room for improvement, the tables were incredibly small so you were bumping elbows with the person next to you. I understand it is a big expense to change tables, but perhaps when they refurbish in the future they could get bigger tables, they have plenty of room for it. Service was a little bit slow, but it was a busy summer day and so that is understood.

We came across this little gem while trying to find somewhere to eat on the August bank holiday Sunday afternoon. No where had availability and we carried on driving and found The Otter Inn had a table free. The food was beautiful, we all had a roast and thoroughly enjoyed it, plenty of food, even the small size was ample, both children finished the lot!! Desserts were also amazing, chocolate brownie, strawberry cheesecake and sticky toffee pudding were to die for, again, empty dishes. Beautiful food, friendly staff and modern decor, what a lovely village pub, I'm sure we'll be back when next on holiday nearby.

This charming family pub is an ideal stop on your way back home from Devon. The attentive bar staff and the well-maintained ambiance, along with a wide variety of beers, make it a delightful place to visit. The reasonably priced and perfectly portioned food further adds to the appeal. We highly recommend this place for those seeking good food in a relaxed atmosphere.

The play area is amazing for the kids but we ended up here twice as the food is so good, the staff are lovely and the place is so clean and well maintained. I liked the extra touches like nappy bags in the toilets and the outside area is just perfect. The beef nachos were amazing. Thank you Otter Inn.

Reasonably priced food, area at the back of main carpark which can accommodate vans. Very quiet for a hot Tuesday night... usual rules apply, eat food in pub or at least drink in the pub... Had the seafood platter with chunky chips and peas or salad, £13.00 each. Very reasonably priced. Bit on the small side of you like bigger portions but ample.

Fabulous new management. Warm welcome, dog friendly, great food. Walk along the river Otter from Budleigh Salterton. Get the bus back, stop right next to pub.
