Nice little pub in the centre of Sidmouth. Good size restaurant area, nice atmosphere. Nice fish tank inside. Has tables outside, too. You go up to the bar to order your food, etc. Quick service and polite staff. Prices are reasonable considering it's a seaside town. The food is nice. Would definitely come back again. Would recommend.

I really liked this pub. I wanted to try the Sunday roast. However, they had already run out. I tried other things on the menu and I was really happy with the food. The food portions are huge and it's really value for money. The white chocolate mud pie was extremely tasty. The service was friendly and very polite.

Always a favourite of ours to visit whether it's for a causal lunch or a nice dinner, the staff are always friendly and welcoming! We've never had a bad plate of food from the Anchor we've enjoyed it all, board specials, burgers, and Sunday roasts always go down a treat. I recommend a visit here if you're in Sidmouth, it's definitely one of our most welcoming and friendly places in town.

Really good selection of food, there's something for everyone, pub favourites, veg/vegan, smaller appetites, sandwiches, the grill, the boat. I had the smaller fish and chips and was delighted that it was still the fresh fish from the "on the boat" section, not just bought in frozen for the small plates!! The food is well priced, and feel sure theres something for all budgets. Good range of drinks on offer and very good price given the seaside location and central position of the pub. Really accommodating when I asked to tweak a few things. Really got the impression that nothing was too much trouble. We sat outside and the area is nicely decorated, and there's seating in the shade and the sun. The atmosphere was comfortable, relaxing but definitely a lovely buzz. I look forward to trying more of the menu, and maybe see a live band on a sunny evening sometime!!

Very friendly staff, excellent food, relaxed atmosphere, good value food. Came in on a Saturday mid-March, had some excellent fish and chips - an enormous portion, with good chips, peas & salad - had fantastic melt-in-the-mouth batter, soft fish with great flavour. Will definitely be coming back later in the year. Can also recommend the whitebait and fish pie. 10/10.

Had 2 lovely meals over the last couple of nights, opted for the lighter meals as the main dishes looked huge, and they were both lovely! If you are going to come it's best to book the day before!

Thank you for a great meal - we would highly recommend. Service was prompt and friendly, the staff were very polite and welcoming and the food was delicious and arrived very fast. We had two meals off the specials board - braised steak and sweet potato curry - both were very tasty and cooked / presented well. We will certainly return when back in the area. Thanks again.

Extensive menus best to book ahead if poss but staff were very accomodating when we walked in off the street and Don't forget to say hello to enormous grey Norman in the fish tank

We had a good great early evening Sunday roast here. Indeed we couldn't find fault with anything and that's unusual especially with roast dinners. The service was excellent, the staff being more professional and attentive than we have experienced in a long time. Real ale drinkers would have been more than happy with a great local beer being served from the cask on the bar counter.

Had the all day breakfast 11.5 with friend. The mushroom was particularly delicious. It was odd though the all day breakfast had to baked beans. After meal we aked and the waitress said they removed it because some customers don't like beans. Next time we can tell them to add the beans to the breakfast. Also be aware that it is often fully booked. We had dinner at around 5pm but tables were fully booked for after 6:45. Make sure to book your tables
