A lovely find for a Sunday roast - brilliant food, however service was very slow. We came here to meet a friend as this was middle ground and the food looked fantastic in the pictures. The food definitely didn’t disappoint - the roast was just the ticket, and I’d like to try some dish’s from their main menu’s soon. I went for the mixed roast, which consisted of Beef, Lamb and Pork. It was great to see on the menu for those who have menu FOMO! All were brilliant. The crackling could be heard across the room and the cauliflower cheese was perfect. The staff were all very friendly and took our order quickly, however from then on it was very slow and we had to ask a few times where our drinks were (a little frustrating as we could see the bar and it wasn’t busy!) The dining room has plenty of seating and looks great, but there is almost no soft furnishing and so it gets loud when there are groups. Not much that could be done to be fair to them, but it’s an observation if you were looking for a quiet meal. There is plenty of parking and good disabled access. The toilets were clean, but not the nicest and could do with being updated when possible to bring them up to the standard of the rest of the place.

We stayed in Towcester for F1 and got this wonderful pub recommended to us. The staff at the Plough were very friendly and helpful. The atmosphere here is very intimate, relaxed but typically British. The food is exzellent. The Trio of Pork and Fish was one of the best menus for a longer time, it was delicious. Very reasonably priced. 10 of 10!

We have been meaning to check this place out for a couple of years now and finally got round to it on my birthday this year. We were not disappointed. The service was fantastic. The staff are very attentive. This is a small intimate setting. Very beautifully laid out. Attention to detail is spot on. The food was delicious. My husband and I had no complaints at all. Our son thought his burger was a little dry and could do with being asked how he would have liked it cooked. The taste was nice just needed a little less cooking time . All the rest of his dinner was perfect. Would recommend The Plough at Shutlanger to anyone looking for a lovely meal.

A friend and I were staying in Towcester on a writing retreat and popped out for lunch at the Plough. We were welcomed warmly and were impressed with the decor inside. The food was delicious and presented so beautifully. The staff could not have been more friendly and helpful. We liked it so much, we returned for breakfast the next day. You definitely need to try the beef pie and the burger was great too!

We have never had a bad experience, in fact it's the best restaurant in the area, by some distance. Incredible wine, and produce. Delivered by a great team.

We came here (8th October) for my dad's 60th. We found the staff to be accommodating and attentive, helping us to make the day really special for him. The food was really good- we ordered burgers, a nut roast, a few mixed roasts and a couple of kids meals which were enjoyed by everyone. There was a nice, busy atmosphere in the downstairs dining area we were seated in and the outdoor seating was really nice and comfortable. The sunshine helped!

What an amazing little pub. Happened to stumble upon this pub by accident on farthest day and thought we would pop in and see if they had tables, was pleasantly surprised to find out they did. Staff were welcoming, friendly and attentive. The food was amazing and all homemade how a good pub should be. Lovely relaxed and cozy atmosphere. Loved the decor. Definitely will be coming back again, well worth the 40 minute drive.
