Fantastic pub. Great, authentic Chinese food, with lovely local ales.
Particularly recommend the sweet and sour dishes and the “salt and pepper” chips (salt and pepper with unique Chinese spices - really incredible!)
Staff are a delight too. Convenient location.
This place is a hidden gem if you like Chinese food. It has a basic traditional English menu, and a good Chinese menu. I have eaten here a few times and the food is lovely and well priced. It's just a shame the overall decor is so dated, and poorly lit Staff are friendly and helpful. Worth visit.
We visit the Hotspur about once a month. It is a large traditional pub with sports screens and a pool table. I believe there is a beer garden but have never used it. Check before your visit if this is your main requirement. There is plenty of parking and special events can be catered.
Our reason for visiting is the Chinese menu. We always enjoy the food. There is an English menu too.
Friendly helpful staff and the pub is usually quiet when we visit around 2pm. Can't comment on other times.

We had my friends baby shower here on Saturday 28th and the staff were very friendly and helpful and the mixed buffet was very nice i would defo come back for food again x

Nice pub with english and chinese food but mainly chinese food. Friendly enviroment with options of pool, sports on tv and gambling machines to pass away the time. Serves lovely banks's mild off the pump.
Our order arrived within 20 mins. Bot and tasty. Altbo not enough sauce on the chow mein. Good value for money.

Odd mix of traditional English pub and Chinese restaurant but the food is lovely and not too expensive. Would recommend.
