Lovely cafe set in a wooded area. Loads of picnic benches and different walks to go on. Parking £2 for up to 2 hours when we visited. Can park for longer though. Highly recommend going along and supporting the cafe.
Lovely variety of walks at Haughmond Hill but have to say it’s the cafe that is the real gem! The welcome is always warm and friendly, nothing is too much trouble and the food is superb. All food is locally sourced and home made cakes and soups etc are always delicious. There are a variety of homemade specials that pop up, my current favourite is the lemon and blueberry scones with lemon curd - an absolute delight! Can’t recommend it highly enough! My dog also recommends the frozen doggy treat recently introduced!!
Great place for a walk and rest at the cafe. Lots of different routes for different abilities. Great for young kids on balance bikes, buggy friendly and great for dogs too. Can get muddy in winter so wellies a good idea!
Cafe serves really good bacon butties, and has nice coffee (which can be served in a take away cup to take on your walk).
Parking charges of about £1 for 2 hours (can pay on Ringo).
We went to the cafe after the 'Highway Rat trail'. It’s wonderful and we really hope they do well because they deserve to. The food is top class with a lovely choice, catering for vegetarians and vegans. The sandwiches were tasty, freshly made with top class local ingredients, thick smoked salmon and lovely granary bread. The ice cream was from a local farm and tasted delicious. They are also very ethically conscious, using other materials other than plastic. I would definitely return and not necessarily just when I have done a walk there! Good luck to them in their venture. Along with the food the cafe staff were friendly, polite and welcoming.
Beautiful area, all the trees are full on new leaves, the shimmering sun shines through and the ground is covered in bluebells, marsh marigolds, ground ivy, and greater stitchwort, and insects bees , beautiful little cafe open 10 till 4 with the carpark area, lovely couple who run it, well worth a visit 🥰🌳💚🌿🌼🌱🌟
Food was tasty though expensive at over £5 for a sandwich and nearly £3 for half glass of fruit juice but a much needed pit stop. We sat in the sheltered bit with lots of wasps buzzing under the plastic roof ( had to move as I'm allergic to them) the floor was gravel and not comfortable for dog paws. It would have been better it it was slabs as we initially wanted to shelter from the sun. In the end we drank our juices and ate our sandwiches in the car so our dog could sit comfortably. Parking is £2 for 2 hrs or £4 for the day though gates close at 8pm even though technically our ticket ran to 11.59pm. Most park on the road to avoid charges but this gets very full.
Met up with some old friends and one of them had booked a tabke at some restaurant, but we got lost and ended up at Haughmond Hill Café. What fortune! We got to sit outside and enjoy our late lunch. Two friends had the Shropshire Blue special sandwich, one had the roasted vegetables sandwich and I had the bacon sandwich with efried egg on granary. It was delicious!
The teas and coffees were excellent, too, and served with a friendly, welcoming smile.
Apart from an excitable dachshund nearby which yapped constantly, it was a lovely time. Thank you! 😊👍🥪🫖☕️
Lovely place for a walk, dog friendly, can sit and have a good snack, or all day breakfast, a bit pricey but good food😊
Super café providing tasty refreshments to visitors to Haughmond Hill...the home made cakes are particularly noteworthy and very welcome after a lovely walk in one of the best dog walking facilities in Shropshire.
Absolutely love this café!! It's the best one I've been too and the only one I go to when I want some fresh air and delicious food!! My son, daughter and I, went today and had the most sensational scones I've ever experienced! With proper clotted cream and strawberry conserve. The staff are always so friendly, happy and helpful which makes the experience even more enjoyable. Dogs and children are welcome and a great variety of drinks, food and snacks to keep them entertained! I regularly go here with my dog Darcy and no doubt I'll l be back again soon!
