First time I've been to this place, never even knew it existed before today.
Started off with a milkshake which was very tasty, haven't had one like that for a while.
The massive marathon (snickers) waffle was my "main" I guess you could say, and it was rather nice. Waffle was decent, toppings were good, and of course it was very sweet so I couldn't manage the whole thing before my headache started complaining for me to stop.
So, if you're in the mood for something highly sweet I guess look no further.
Superb food, though rather rich. They seem to be coping well under current circumstances. We ate in, the interior is smart and modern, but the acoustics are rather poor- however this was overlooked when the food arrived.
It was so filling that I ordered my milkshake in a takeaway cup.
Pleasent enough staff and a wide selection of sweet treats.
Great place for an evening treat!
Well presented (as seen in photo).
Just great desserts of all types and flavours. A bit expensive though, but it is worth to try at least once.
Lovely place, great selection and service, helpful staff. Would definitely recommend to others
When Sweet first opened it was very good and went occasionally. It steadily went down hill. Waiting time for meals got longer, even when the restaurant was half empty. One evening we recieved ( party of 6) our meals intermittently, I'd finished mine and my friends arrived. There were only about 12 of us in all in the restaurant and two take away guys waiting. We did complain and were offered free coffee, we declined. The food varried in quality. I can recommend the milkshakes. I wonder if the Take away business is affecting the restaurant side M Oliver.
First time me and my family havd visited. The puddings wed lovely but my only gripe was we were in and out in 40 minutes. Coffee pudding and gone. We travelled quite a way and we were on our way home. Perhaps have little taster dishes as a starter we would of had 2 drinks if stayed longer.
The name of the place says it all. Serving a range of crepes, waffles, ice cream and also more traditional puddings. Service was quick and friendly. Drinks range from fully loaded milkshakes to tea and coffee. They also have a small range of savoury items hidden away on the menu for those not wishing to enjoy the sugary bonanza.
Interesting take on a coffee shop, where the accompanying dessert is the star of the show. The puds vary massively in size, some are easily big enough to share, and leave you full enough that you'll skip your next meal, so bear that in mind before you order.
A couple of small negatives:
The staff seem to call every group of people 'guys', a personal bugbear of mine, it's overly familiar, especially when some of the group are clearly female!
Avoid the mocktails, they're expensive, and overloaded with sugar (to the point that my 5 year old daughter complained that hers was too sweet, and made her feel sick).
Lovely atmosphere, great popular music plays that you can sing along to. Lovely staff. Very colourful videos play in the background of how they make the desserts. Lots of dessert choices including ice-cream, vegan option and gluten-free.
Different varieties of waffles, pancakes, crepes, milkshakes, smoothies, cookie dough, waffle-lollies, ice creams and I'm sure lots of other things that I don't look at on the menu but are as tasty as those mentioned.
They have also adapted to social distancing and ensure these measures are taken.
They also have tables where a whole of family of 8 could probably sit in together and smaller tables.
They offer 10% NHS discount and probably student discounts as well
Free WiFi for those who stop in
Enjoy the desserts and bon appetit ☺️😋
Lovely desserts, would go back again. It was my first time going there, so I decided to choose something I knew the taste of which was a Nutella Crepe. It came at a reasonable time, but the actual crepe itself was too sweet. But definitley deserves a chance as the other desserts were really nice!!👌🏽
Just deserts! They do all sorts of cakes, waffles and ice creams. The food quality was perfect, and the restaurant has a nice, modern and fancy feel to it. Staff were very friendly, and overall, a very good experience! Will definitely come again!
It was ok but my "jar" dessert came in a sundae glass and a member of staff (young lad more interested in his phone) dropped the utensil used to loosen the cookie dough and then actually carry on using it! (Fortunately(!) he kept popping out the back to use his phone! )In fact all of the staff were stood around chatting or on their phones except the tall lad who worked his socks off. Won't be back and suggest some management and hygiene training would be helpful
