Went with my in-laws while visiting family in the UK. This place has really authentic Indian curries and is really good. It is a smaller place and the tables are tight, a bit loud but it's worth enduring all of that for the authentic delish...food.
Can't go wrong with curry here. Although it may be a small portion, itll fill you up if you add rice or naan as a side. The sweet curries were very tasty and hit the spot. I recommend coming here, prices are affordable and won't feel completely cheated.
The original Curry House In Shrewsbury. This is one of the best curry restaurants in Shrewsbury. The restaurant itslef has a medium sized seating area on the ground floor, this has the posher seating, a newer addition to the premises. Upstairs is an extremely large seating area, although when you first enter, it looks decieving as it has a flow through from room to room. The food is excentlly priced, and has a wide range of meals, and should what you like not be on the menu the chef will do his best to do the dish for you. They even have English meals for those not brave enough. The restaurant is open to 1am on weekend nights. Can get busy at a weekend, I would highly recommend this restaurant. A take-away service is also offered.
We ate here in August. We had no expectations, were visiting Shrewsbury and really fancied a curry. We had entree's and mains. We were both really happy with all our choices, and really enjoyed our entree's. Should we visit this restaurant again, I might opt to have more entree's as they really were a taste sensation.
We hadn't booked so called on spec. Waited just 5 minutes and table was ready for us. After poppadoms (with a generous portion of chutneys etc) wife had onion bhaji starter, I had tandoori lamb chops. Both well presented, see photos.
Can't remember the names of our mains but both were delicious.
10/10 to the staff too, polite and welcoming.
Just had the best curry (chicken syleti) I've had in Shrewsbury from here tonight. Wow. So tasty. I don't do many reviews but thought this deserved it. It was amazing 👏

Excellent food and friendly staff. Menu is wide reaching and catered well for the vegetarian in our group. We munched our way through a wide range of different starts and mains and left very satisfied indeed! Would definitely eat here again.

After failing to get a table in few places we tried The Curry House. I am very glad we did. The best curry I ever had. My wife had Tandoori chicken salad and was impressed with that too. Service was second to none. Highly recommend it
