Lovely pub to arrive at after a long country walk. We sat in the bar and the menu was limited but delivered on everything we hoped for. Roast beef X 2, my good man! Great service delivered quickly. The beef was delicious, as was everything else on the plate. Will definitely return and may check out the full menu in the restaurant.

Excellent English Rose wine (very dry), called Ellie, here at The Samuel Palmer. Quality food, all fresh local ingredients, in a beautiful high-ceiling barn. Better for older children 12+. Friendly atmosphere.

Wow, fantastic pub in a beautiful village. Cant remember having better pub food in UK. Had smoked trout starter and roast lamb main, both of which were outstanding. The service was really excellent too.

The epitome of a beautiful English country pub. Friendly welcome, fair choice of bar meals and a decent range of beers. We didn’t get to sample the restaurant but sausage rolls were more than ample on this occasion. Larkins Brewery ales, I had a pint of best which hit the spot. Draft lagers include Stella, Mahou, Corona and Bohemian Rhapsody. Parking can be an issue but hey why are you driving anyway! Will revisit for sure and check out the restaurant.

The pub is well-maintained and decorated, inside and out with outdoor seating, albeit typical tables with benches attached which I don't like as they're uncomfortable. Inside, there are a variety of tables and chairs in the bar area and an impressive large back room, perfect for functions, opening onto an outside space. We ordered a seafood platter for two, which was a generous amount and very fresh and included several langoustines, a fresh dressed crab, lots of prawns and large mussels. Smoked salmon is included, too, though we asked to substitute this with extra prawns. The beer was good - a summer ale. We would definitely come again and try other beers and menu items. There is a set 2-course menu at £37.50, which sounds pricey to me for a country pub but judging by our lunch I'm confident that it would be good quality.

I've been wanting to eat here for ages, what a real treat, the food was absolutely delicious! Honestly the best food I've eaten in this area, since we moved here 15 years ago! Service was excellent. We will certainly be repeat customers. Keep up the great work.

This was such a pleasant surprise, in a tiny village to have a restaurant of this quality! Really great wines to go with it, I'll make sure to try the local wines next time. Even the kids menu looked good. My only tiny bit of critique would be that the croquettes could use a bit more salt , but the porkbelly was the best I ever had, the chips amazing, our chickenliver parfait perfect, the prawn salad amazing . Too bad we where too full to try the desserts. Super nice and attentive service and nice clients. What is not to like about this place!!! Last thing though, the local minicab is twice as expensive as the ones in Orpington area, so if coming by minicab, try and book in advance.
