We came to this small winery for lunch but they also have winery tours and a shop. It’s a very nice environment with indoor and outdoor seating, and good service. Recommend pre booking during busier times like bank holiday weekends.
The wine is decent (we thought sparkling was better than stills), excellent pizza, and decent cheese and salads. Numerous options for vegetarians which I loved.
It’s dog friendly, and has clean toilets.
The road into and out of it was a bit narrow and rough, but it did have decent parking with a short walk to the winery.
We popped in to have a look around and had a 3 wine tasting selection. It was really nice, came in a little basket with tasting notes too.
Nice to sit in the sun amongst the vines. We will definitely be back to try the pizza too!
+ Delicious pizza!
- very long wait for food (an hour)
- need to pre-book in high season
+ outdoor tables doesn’t require booking
I very much like this place and will go again. For sure will pre-book.
Tasty sharing cheese and meat boards. Also the pizzas are delicious there. Lovely setting and atmosphere.
From wonderful sparkling white, great beers, pizzas, not to mention the olives, stop by here and enjoy all the tremendous treats on offer. The chutneys from the shop are superb, as are the team working who couldn’t have been more pleasant and professional. Definitely worth a visit or 6, this stunning setting we will be frequenting many more times in the future. Thanks for a great night, cheers Dave.
The Mount Vineyard and Restaurant is a great place to meet friends and family. A great event venue.
No winery as wines are vinified elsewhere.
Had a lovely day by the picnic area. Flights with 3 different wines £15, local sparkling bottle £48
A beautiful end to a lovely 13km hike.
The vineyard was completely packed and filled with an amazing ambiance. Very, very good vibes here.
If you go here, stick to their delicious wine and cheeses to accompany their fine liquids.
The pizza was under cooked so the base was floppysloopy, the tomato sauce on my Caprese was very watery.
1st order
Price:
£54 for 1x Caprese, 1x Garlic bread, 1x salad, 1x lager, 1x Cider
We didn’t finish the food and continued ordering bottles and bottles of wine which was of course absolute delicious and worth every penny.
Menu is focused on pizzas (but very eclectic mix of toppings - definitely non market standard), salads and cheese/meat sharing boards, plus a wide choice of desserts. All the food we had was excellent and there was a very wide choice of wines (unsurprisingly) - we had the Mount’s own Bacchus. Dining area is very light and airy - whole roof retracts on sunny days. Also an outside area for late turn-ups. Dog friendly. Shop and winery on-site. Service very good and friendly. We very much enjoyed our Sunday afternoon here and will return. Note - easily accessible from central London as Shoreham railway station only a 5 minute walk away.
Very smart location. Somewhat limited menu but if you like pizza it’s all good. casual. Easy parking. About £40 a head including a couple of beers. Only negative was the ice cream - rock solid and served up in the cardboard tub from the supplier which was odd at the price.
Came here after my friend’s recommendation and WOW what a beautiful restaurant in an amazing location. It felt so cosy and Christmassy so I can’t imagine how beautiful it must be in summer. The pizza complimented with the side salad was truly unreal! I will definitely be recommending my family and friends to pop by for a visit.
Beautiful location. I image that summers here would be a highlight.
I was disappointed on my visit as they were changing their menus so the vegan board was not available. This meant only 1 pizza option or salads were an option which was quite limiting. Had the platter been available it would have given a bit more choice.
Our friends had great pizzas (non vegetarian) the staff on our visit seemed a bit overwhelmed by the number of customers but they were friendly and tried to keep up.
Great pizzas and amazing wine. The places looks beautiful as well. Special thanks to Miles for looking after us
This place is amazingly pretty. The owners have done such a good job in both running a successful vineyard and also sharing the experience with the general public. The pizzas are superb and the staff are very attentive and helpful.
Amazing place to visit. You can eat inside or outside on the grass/picnic benches. The food is incredible. We've been several times now, and it never disappoints. Lovely place to eat out at in the Summer. The surrounds are beautiful.
Second review for ‘The Mount’.
Beautiful little gem just outside of London,45-60min drive. Perfect for a quick little Sunday drive and relax, this is definitely going to be a summer hit, with its lush gardens, picnic spots, wine tasting as well as restaurant.
Food was absolutely amazing,we just had a pizza to share due to us getting lost and being late.
Staff were the friendliest and most understanding - keeping us a spot open for when we arrived.Gave me directions over the phone which was indeed helpful.
Thanks again to the team and looking forward to our next visit.
