Staff are friendly and very welcoming. Food has always been spot on, tasty. I really have to keep myself away from the lovely cakes in the display cabinet. Well done and thank you.

I booked a table for twelve for lunch and tentatively asked if we might be able to have a quiet area as we were old colleagues catching up with each other. When we arrived, the manager took us to a separate room and he and the waiting staff went out of their way to make us feel that we were special customers. We ordered a vast array of food and it came quickly and was of the highest quality...from the well stuffed sandwiches to the beautifully presented salmon salads. Staff came on numerous occasions to refill our water jugs and, before we left, our waiter appeared to make sure that everything was to our liking. First class. We'll be back. Thank you Hummingbird.

Nice cafe located inside Brighton City Airport. The cafe is owned by Truffles the bakers, as such the quality of ingredients is high. This is a very traditional cafe, though the menu sits well in the confines of the art deco terminal building that harks back to an older simpler (if far more dangerous) and a bit more glamorous period of air travel. Nice to sit, munching on the heart fare as planes take to the air and various sightseers go about their business.

Fantastic location and great food. It’s on the slightly more expensive side for food but it is great quality and the portions are perfect. Lovely to be able to watch the small planes at the airport and if you get a chance just walk around the building and check out the design. Stunning. Will definitely go back to sample all the cakes as well.

Fantastic view of Lancing College and planes. Food are nice especially the bread. Services are friendly and tables are space out, not cramped. Black americano is weak and bland. Dog friendly.

Great service, nice food and fantastic entertainment for kids who love airplanes. We went for breakfast and had the full English plus the veggie version. Both were great and really tasty, nothing out of this world but exactly what you want. They also do a good 4 piece kids breakfast option, which is good if your kids only like certain bits from a breakfast. The service is very good and the views of the airfield are great.

I went for the ultimate breakfast and my wife had the eggs and bacon. It was all tasty. Service was excellent. The place can be quite noisy when busy due to the hard floor. I would give it 5 stars if the baked bean portion was doubled in size. The granary bread was good but it made the breakfast a little bit too dry. More beans would have made it perfect.

The food is really good here. We had breakfast and it was delicious. Saw the lunch time food arriving and was very impressed 👍. ( Lunchtime menu start's at about 11.30am) . Great view of the plane's and runway. On a day when it's not constantly raining ( which it was!). Sitting outside on the pub benches would be nice. Lovely art deco building. Super clean. Loved it all.

Great place to have breakfast. The outdoor area is good for kids (and adults) to see the planes/helicopters taking off/landing. Food is really good! Most of the staff are very friendly, but 1 or 2 a bit stroppy. Only other minor down point, it can take a while to get seated (even if it's not busy).

Not too many tables inside but plenty outside, so it's a great place to eat especially when it's dry. Fantastic spot to watch planes take off and land and a fabulous uninterrupted view across to lancing college. Prices are expensive but you get what you pay for, the food is delicious and ample servings. The staff are very cheerful and helpful, nothing is too much trouble. Will be going back soon.

We came this morning for breakfast and it was lovely. Nothing was too much trouble, we were 4 adults 1 child and a toddler and the waitress Debbie was exceptional. Debbie made sure we gad everything we needed and more. Debbie chatted with us all and made our breakfast experience the best. We will definitely come again. Thank you Debbie for being the absolute best.

We visited last week with my 2yr old son who loves planes and my husband. Pay and display parking out side the cafe. The service was excellent and the restaurant was lovely! Food was nice £12 for a burger and chips which was a big portion. Social distancing well maintained. Great view although there wasn't much movement when we visited and only saw 3 planes and a couple of helicopters. Still really enjoyed it. Love the art deco vibe and history.

Went at around 11am and it was fairly busy.We were an unexpected large group but they accomodated us well for breakfast. Friendly staff working very hard. Outdoor area overlooks the airport, but also a good view from inside. I had sausage bap which was good value at £4.95. Good sausages! Enjoyed the visit and had no idea that it is now run by Truffles. Will visit again.

The hummingbird is a great place in this lovely Art Deco airport building. Beautiful art deco features, unique location with panoramic views over the airfield. I hope this business keeps going exactly as it is. You absolutely have it right!

A lovely little cafe/restaurant housed inside the main terminal building at Shoreham Airport. I visited with my wife and daughter and had a bite to eat while my daughter had a 30 minute aerobatic flight. The lunch menu is ok, there are various options on the menu. I ordered a bog standard ham & cheese sandwich with a portion of cheesy chips. The sandwich was nice but the chios definitely stole the show! Nicely fried and covered in cheese, lovely stuff. The cafe has both inside and outside seating areas. We decided to sit outside and that's where the fun begins! So not only do you get a lovely view of the airfield, watching the aircraft go about their business but you also get a mini battle at times with the seagulls ha-ha Obviously they are opportunistic so you do have to have your wits about you otherwise you can say goodbye to your lunch. The staff and other members of the public all do their best to keep the birds away but they do have to be considered. Now I'm not saying they gang up on you and steal your lunch money, in fairness there was only about 2 birds hanging around and they didn't bother me at all, it's only like being o. The seafront with a bag of chips you just have to remember that they are there. The cafe offers a range of hot, cold and alcoholic drinks. I was pleasantly surprised at how busy it was however I did visit on a weekend so more people are usually around. I would recommend a visit especially if you are into your aviation or if you have kids who would love to see a live airfield up close.

My parents have been living in Shoreham for almost a year and I can’t believe I haven’t been to the Hummingbird before. Food and drink was all good or better, and the portions were big, not enough room for pudding! What was really lovely was how Dad at 83 and not 100% with it came to life watching the goings on of this quite busy little airport. He was observing and commenting regularly and watching the various planes and helicopters coming in and going out, getting refuelled, vehicles moving around etc. Mum enjoyed it just as much as when we went, about 1.30pm, it was not too busy of noisy so she was comfortable and could hear us. The staff were kind and attentive. I am guessing it may get busy during the spring and summer and possibly school holidays… We’ll be going again soon hopefully, and will leave room for cake next time.
