Visited whilst on holiday the food is delicious We both had lamb dishes one jalfrezi and a chefs special with shredded potatoes on top the huge chunks of lamb melted in your mouth one of the best curries we have had, and we have had a fair few, staff are attentive very friendly we will definitely visit again you need to give this place a try!
The staff is super friendly. The food is fantastic and generous. We loved having so much vegetarian options.

Having lived near the infamous Birmingham balti triangle for a number of years in often disappointed when going out for an Indian meal. The reviews for Mumbai were consistently great so as holidaying in the area we gave it at go. Very pleased with everything from the service, general ambience and the great food. Give it a go you won't regret it!
Just had a take out Chicken Madras with garlic rice. It was totally delicious. Just the right amount of spiciness and tasty with perfect portion size. Was ready when I went to collect and really hit the mark. Well done guys

Food was delicious and cooked as per our request, staff were friendly and attentive. There was no rush to clear the tables so we could eat our meal at our own pace. There was a nice atmosphere. All round a lovely evening.
Always enjoyed the York Mumbai Lounge and when we were looking for houses as a first time buyer (outside of York due to price) we found one near Mumbai Lounge Shiptonthorpe, and it is one of the reasons we bought a house near by. Honestly the best Indian food I’ve ever had (apart from my Nan’s). Fully recommended either for dining in, or a takeaway.

Went on a Saturday night as the one we usually go to was fully booked and don’t know why we haven’t been before. Staff very attentive, food was better than the one we usually go to and portions were great. Have a nut allergy and everything was well labeled and staff helpful with telling us which curry was fine to have. Will definitely go again.
Top notch Bangladeshi and Indian restaurant. Staff friendly and attentive. The quality of the food is excellent and meat is delicious. Very similar in style and quality to the sister restaurant in Fossgate. Highly recommend. Try to Chicken Sashlik or the Madras.
