Called in at lunchtime opening, and was warned they couldn't accept me with the dog, which wasn't a surprise as this is primarily a restaurant rather than a pub. It was raining fairly hard, so a little disappointed by the speed of this decision. There are a number of garden tables with some degree of shelter, so in reality not much of a problem for me or the dog. The menu is extensive, but not quite as ambitious as it used to be. Which is a good thing, the choice used to overwhelming. The meal was substantial, and well presented, and the owner and her staff couldn't have been more attentive. I'm glad to report that the place was very busy, as it deserves to be. Good food at a reasonable price, good customer service, and not prompted to vacate the table immediately the bill had been settled. The photo shows my steak and ale pie with vegetables, a generous portion! Thank you ladies.

Had dinner here recently. Ridiculous selection of food - printed on a double-sided A3 menu! Everything from carbonara to noodles to Mexican... A bit like a mash-up of all local takeaways. Nothing Michelin star or particularly fancy but all good, well-portioned and priced. I ordered fish from the specials board, which came with a very tasty cream sauce, whilst my partner ordered barbecue chicken with delicious fluffy chunky chips. Desserts were decadent! He had banana split whilst I had a pecan sticky toffee pudding. Great local pub - pleasantly surprising!

As always, very friendly staff. Amazing food quality. We have 2 roasts, wine, desserts for around £40 so it doesnt break the bank for a very luxury experience

Traditional style pub located in a lovely village. Have to cross over a stream to get to car park. Very quaint. Menu is not massive, a broad range of different foods, bit pricey but when you see the portion sizes you understand why. We had a table of six without booking as it was a spare of the moment thing. I had the bacon and cheese southern fried chicken burger which was amazing. Normally I have a burger when eating out but glad I made the switch to try something new. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Polite and we'll presented. We will be going back and would recommend.

If I could give The Boot Inn 10 out of 5 I would. Today we visited for the second time and the staff were just as lovely and the food just as incredible with plenty of options for everyone. Everyone there is so friendly and they all go over and above to make your visit as brilliant as they can. I couldn’t recommend it more.

Lovely comfortable atmosphere, we ordered burgers and the deep fried crumbed brie. The brie was particularly good and the burgers were great.. The only criticism was that the waitron staff could be more attentive, waiting for bills and card machines should not be a thing in today's restaurant experience...

First visit here. It was a Friday evening at about 17:45. Very nice decor inside giving a nice ambience. I'd recommend booking to make sure you get in as it was getting pretty busy as we left. The menu is a mixture of Asian food and pub classics. To drink we had a bottle of Argentine Melbec which was very smooth. To eat, I had the boot burger and the wife had the katsu chicken burger which we both really enjoyed. We both had sticky toffee sponge for dessert which were very generous portions. The staff seemed very friendly and attentive making sure we always had enough drinks and clearing the empties. My only criticism would be the layout of the menu, which isn't very obviously broken up into sections. It took some turning the menu over back and fourth a few times to work out what was what and to decide what we wanted. We'll definitely be back to try some more of the menu.

We eat at The Boot Inn every couple of months and have always found the food to be amazing. During our recent visit Wednesday 26th August the food didn't disappoint, once again the food was amazing and this time we took the kids and they ate all their meal which is a rarity. Unfortunately the customer service was less than desirable. We've been taking advantage of the eat out to help out scheme throughout the month. We regularly eat at lots of different restraunts and pubs throughout the area and wanted to help them with giving them custom. So much so we've been eating out twice a week. We've never taken the kids to The Boot Inn as to be honest it's never striked us as a kid friendly environment compared to other places which have kid areas to play indoors and outdoors. On this occasion we thought we would take the kids for an early evening meal. This must have been the thoughts of many other families as at least half the tables had children sat at which I've never seen before, normally it's the odd toddler etc. We called through and booked a table the evening before, paying a deposit over the phone which is perfectly reasonable in the current climate. Apon arrival we were welcomed by a friendly face and then allocated a table waitress who showed us to the table. I wouldn't say she was particularly warm and friendly. Throughout the meal the service didn't come across particularly friendly, maybe it's due to wearing face masks so not then being so easy to see someones expression but when we had the odd other person come over they were very friendly. Before ordering we noticed a couple sit behind us who immediately asked the waitress before ordering to confirm that the eat out to help out scheme was in operation, the waitress said it wasn't. At that point the couple politely said their goodbyes and left, I can only assume that they hadn't reserved a table otherwise they would have lost their deposit as it was made aware to us that our deposit was securing the table for that 2 hour period. This immediately changed our opinion on what we were going to order. It was our intention to all have starters, mains and desserts, myself and my wife have also been deliberately ordering the most expensive items on the menu to eat food we wouldn't normally entertain ordering due to cost. Instead we just ordered normal mains and a round of drinks instead. We ordered 4 pints of soft drinks and when we asked for a straw for the kids there was none available, maybe I'm out of touch with eco friendly rules but other restraunts have been giving us straws throughout the month whether that be eco friendly straws or not. The food was amazing as said and it pains me to not give a 5 star review but feel that customer service must also be taken into account. We also saw several other groups ask at the point of paying their bill as to why it was so much so they obviously assumed the scheme was in use. I absolutely accept that I should have asked at the point of booking but at the same time, everywhere I've checked throughout the month on the government site has been signed up so I got a little complacent and didn't check. I didn't want to ask the desk staff as to why it wasn't being used as I'm sure this has been an awkward moment for all their staff throughout the month and ultimately they don't make these decisions. I just felt that as we had paid our deposit we were now in a position of having to stay and that had we not paid a deposit then we would have left. Subsequently, they lost all the extra food and drinks that we would have ordered along with my repeat custom over the next year or so but it's hard to forget that when we're deliberately eating to help them as a business that they cannot help us by signing up to the scheme.

Attended on a Friday night with a party of 14 people for a birthday. Staff were friendly and helpful. Service was quick and the food was nice. My only faults for here were the tables felt very sticky ( could have been down to sanitizer spray) The food was good but I felt it was a little over priced.

Booked a table for 17 of us to celebrate my sons 21st birthday, the staff were brilliant and really looked after us all especially the birthday boy! The food came quickly was hot and delicious, the only thing we struggled with was choosing what to eat as the selection is amazing! Thank you to you all, we'll be back again soon!!

All the fam incl.the kids absolutely loved this place. Food was great, you can tell its hand prepared as opposed to so many other 'gastro pubs' who order ready made meals and microwave to serve. They had vegan options as well as great meat options available to keep whole family happy. An interesting menu with both British and some fusion dishes. Very helpful staff, clean restaurant and facilities clean too. Could not fault in any way. Weve saved this one and will come back when we are in the area.
