Fabulous carvery in a wonderful location. We had free parking and had a little wander before hand. The pub was full of atmosphere and buzzing with activity. The locals were very welcoming and even entertained the children! Will be visiting again - can’t wait to see the new decor!
Proper pub, good beer, best landlord in the Midlands. Go there, relax and eat.
Lovely, fun, local pub. My boyfriend and I love this pub! We're from down south but often visit this lovely part of the world to chill out and escape the hustle and bustle of city life. Whenever we're up there, we always make a trip to The Horseshoe as you're guaranteed delicious home cooked food, a fab selection of wine and ales and most of all right good giggle! The staff and locals are so friendly and make you feel really welcome. Whether you're sat near the fire, or out in the courtyard there's always stories to be told and a laugh to be had. Oh and they have brilliant live music on a Sunday evening - good times!
Tasty food, reasonable prices & a warm welcome!. Eaten here a few times now, always been pleased with the food, which is tasty, fresh and well priced - even my two children (who can be very fussy!) found things they enjoyed. Have always been made to feel very welcome and Hubby is kept happy with the Guest Beers- would thoroughly recommend!
"Real Pub Real People". Nice to find a real pub! warm friendly , dogs everywhere - people talking ( a rare event in so many pubs!) Excellent grub at the right price . Probably one of the best smoking shelters in Warwickshire!
Under new management, lovely atmosphere, great covid safety. Lovely food, and really nice staff.
On th Cask Marque Ale Trail and quite justifiably so. A superb pint of Shagweaver (North Cotswold Brewery 4.5abv) was an aperitif for the pubs speciality of the evening - Fish Friday - wich included a bottle of Prosecco.
The landlord (& chef) was affability itself and the general ambience of the establishment most agreeable.
A proper pub in these days of gastro pubs it's refreshing to find. Limited menu but what's there is very good.
Excellent pub, great food, good sized portions and reasonably priced. Landlady was polite and welcoming
Menu was very boring ("pub classics"), but the food was actually good, so after I'd got over the struggle of choosing something (steak, and only rump at that) I did actually enjoy it as it was a nice bit of meat and was well-cooked, with good accompaniments, aside from the peppercorn sauce, where one of the 3 portions on our table contained all the peppercorns.
Great food, great service in a quiet and pretty pub. Thoroughly recommended.
Lost a little bit of its worn cozy atmosphere due to renovation. Food very good, though.
This is a typical 'old' pub. It is not trying to ve anything else and it was great. The food was good wholesome pub grub. No pretention. Huge portions and well cooked. The bar lady was great (I'm not sure if she was the landlady). Fab sense of humour and really welcoming. We would thoroughly recommend this place.
Upon my first visit since the easing of lockdown restrictions, I was greeted warmly and handed a pint of my usual beer before I'd even sat down. This is particularly impressive, as the new owners had only been in a couple of weeks before having to shut the doors for lockdown. Excellent service (and great beer)
Just left the horseshoe after a lovely family meal. Ordered the fish Goujon sandwich and was pleased with the amount of fish ans the quality of it! Kids had the chicken nuggets and beef burger, both being fussy eaters but they both blanked there plates! Lovely warm atmosphere and really friendly and attentive staff. Will absolutely be returning soon. Great little place.
