Went here today for a drink outside in the lovely sun. Absolutely amazing, lovely atmosphere, nice staff and tasty food. Not cheap but so worth it
Went to the pub for the first time today for the charity dog walk. Lovely place with very friendly staff and dog friendly too. Could have happily spent the afternoon there just relaxing in lovely surroundings but duty called. Will be back soon to try out the food :)
Thank you so much for making our family get together such a wonderful experience. The room was great lots of space for the children food and staff excellent .A special thank you to the chef and staff who catered for the many food allergies .Looking forward to my next visit
Visited here today off the cuff for my husband's birthday. Having been previously we had the foresight to get there early and were seated straightaway despite not booking. Service and food fab the fillet steak was incredible. Can highly recommend
Delicious lunch, beautiful surroundings and lovely staff. Definitely my favourite place to eat out with my family
Love it here.. food is spot on staff are lovely. It’s a Lovely run pub!
Amazing place. Had a problem with my meal this time as it contained something I didn't like. They changed it straight away without any issues.
Nice location, great food, friendly staff always there to help👍Definitely recommend to anyone.
Had a great meal and lovely night yesterday at the inn at Shipley couldn't fault it. Love the Gins and tried a new one last night. Definitely recommend
Warm welcome and super friendly & helpful service. Too cold to sit outside today but would be lovely setting in the summer. No vegan starter. Only 2 vegan main courses but the lentil pie was superb. Only 1 vegan dessert but it was a bit more interesting than usual - poached rhubarb was lovely.
Visited for the first time with my dad and my 18 month old (they’d been before) and came on the recommendation from my dad as it was his birthday. We arrived around 12pm. There were a handful of people already in but it was a gorgeous day so I only expected it to get busier.
We parked up over the back of the car park so we could give the dog a bit of a run about and so my little one could explore the tractor (he’s big into vehicles!) I couldn’t get over how beautiful the beer garden and surrounding scenery was. My dad said it gets really busy outside in the nice weather and I can completely understand why!
The interior was really, really nice as well. I almost didn’t feel like I was in a pub, more like someone’s front room / dining room.
I ordered the cod and chips, and for my son, the sausages with mash and peas from the kids menu (they were more than happy to accommodate a swap from chips to mash for him). My meal didn’t look massive but I was so full by the end of it. The chips were seasoned beautifully.
The dog was welcome inside to a certain area near the bar but they seem very accommodating to dogs as they have a treat jar and access to water outside.
The food was really nice. We went on a Sunday and had a roast with a dessert. The food was DELICIOUS!! The atmosphere and the place itself was relaxing and calm. Allowed to bring dogs in the bar area which is cute, they have little treats for them.
The service was quite poor when we went this time, not sure if it was because it was a Sunday and busy. But we waited quite a long time for our mains, annoying but the food came and it didn’t disappoint.
Will definitely go back again, a lovely place to take your family for a meal.
PS have the sticky TOFFEE PUDDING!!
Had an amazing evening once again! The food was absolutely superb. A great selection of food to cater for most tastes and an equally great selection of drinks. We had the scallops, goats cheese and artichoke salad, pan fried chicken breast and the shoulder of lamb. The lamb is succulent falling off the bone and also a generous portion; it took serious effort to greedily order a lovely desert too. A great place for a special occasion and we will be visiting again in future!
We had an absolutely wonderful evening, in the private dining room. The staff were amazing so helpful made our evening perfect. The food was exceptional we will definitely be returning. Thank you again to everyone for a fabulous time
A reasonably regular haunt despite being a distance away, because it is a lovely, relaxed atmosphere, comfortable and welcoming, with space. The service this time was as friendly and efficient as ever. And although the food is pretty always good, this time it was exceptional. Prawns and pate to start pretty standard, nice taste, but the main courses - venison and chicken breast respectively, were superb. Good value too. Already looking forward to our next visit.
Had quite a few meals and drinks here over the years. Always good service and quality food. A very good selection of beers, wine, gin, whisky. Well spaced out eating area inside and out. Don't think you can ever go wrong here with whatever you chose. Booking is recommended as been a few times and all tables were full especially on popular times and good weather days.
Very tasty food, we had the mackerel as a starter, which was very nice. For mains we had the chicken Sunday roast and the battered cod. It was all freshly cooked, you could tell!! Staff were really friendly too!
The food was lovely and tasty everything from the starters to the dessert. I would say don't skip the dessert and save room for it because wow. The creme brulee was sublime and the chocolate brownie dessert was so decadent and rich.
Staff all friendly and attentive and even though sometimes a bit of a wait between courses when they were busy, they apologised and to be quite honest a break was welcomed between the courses to allow a little break before the next indulgence!
The Inn at Shipley was a lovely quiant country pub towards the West of Wolverhampton. The approach to the pub was welcoming with a warming message outside from the team. The team were attentive and friendly on entry to the pub and provided great customer service throughout the visit. We had booked a table for a larger number but some of our guests couldn't make it. The pub quickly rectified this with a more suitable table. The tables were well spread out to allow for a safe dining experience. Inside had a vintage and cosy dining experience; the usual fireplaces and low ceilings.
Pros:
* Great customer service
* Excellent quality of food. The menu had a good selection of choices available.
* The atmosphere in the pub was very chilled.
Cons:
* The temperature was a little uncomfortable. It was a little too hot for us and even after we had to switch one radiator off.
* The Game sausage roll was dry and the pastry was under done.
* The toilets did not have a toilet roll holder and were a little dated.
* The chips was slightly undercooked.
Overall we would recommend and visit again. 8/10.
Excellent service - smiling, well-trained, friendly and inviting staff. Great food! Excellent place to eat if in the area and very kid-friendly by the looks of it. It is a large restaurant, country-house like! Like it!
Lovely pub, great service, staff are friendly and efficient. Beef and lamb roast were lovely. Never enough gravey, and roast potatos were very big and a bit on the under cooked size for my liking though. Love that its dog friendly, that's a bonus!
Can't praise it enough. Lovely place and location, warm welcome, friendly staff, delicious food and great service all at a very reasonable price
Can't say enough good things about this place. The food is just incredible, it's mouthwatering. The whole place is beautifully decorated, and very welcoming, nothing out of place, warm and cosy atmosphere but plenty of space, not cramped against each other in the slightest. Staff are absolutely lovely. Wish we had more opportunities to go!
Foods good, and it’s just such a cute country pub! Is this the best steak and ale pie in the world? Probably not, but are you looking for that in a country pub outside of Wolves? No. And you get exactly what you deserve here. A decent meal, a great pint with lovely people.
Beautiful food, amazing service, gorgeous scenery!!
Called at this gorgeous, spacious, gastro-pub for Saturday Lunch, not too busy at about 12:30 but filled up later. We were met with a friendly greeting and shown to a big, bright, corner table in the bar area (with our two dogs). Offered water for the table (and the dogs) while we decided what to eat and drink. Opted for a 10oz Sirloin (medium rare), Lamb Shoulder, side order of onion rings, and a bottle of Pinot Noir. All the food was perfectly cooked and delicious (the home-made onion rings were to die for!). Service was quick, attentive and friendly, but the whole meal felt relaxed and unhurried. A couple of coffees and delicious mini-puddings brought the bill to just over £100 (including optional tip, no service added). Not cheap, but for the quality of food, service, and overall dining experience, fair value for the money. We’ll definitely be back next time we’re in the area.
