The food was superb and would hard to beat! Alan and his staff are so helpful and it is great not to be crammed with too many tables - thoroughly recommended.

Spent a lovely evening here last night with two friends. We all chose different main meals from menu and specials board. All the food was well presented, beautifully cooked and we all enjoyed our food. We shared a couple of puddings too, they were delicious! Staff attentive but not pushy, gorgeous setting and busy for a Wednesday evening x would recommend highly.

Just had a takeaway for the first time. We ordered scampi & chips and plaice & chips, both absolutely delicious. Our order was ready on time, neatly packed with tartar sauce and peas in separate containers. Will definitely have a takeaway again.

Just had our monthly date night and had the "Surf and Turf" all I can say is that it was an absolute bloody delight ! Wife had the best Chicken Caesar Salad she's had for an age ! Can also recommend the Chilli Beef, pork belly and pan fried cod ! The only difficulty is deciding what to have !

We had such a lovely meal in very beautiful garden, bbq ribs, coleslaw and chips and risotto with sweet potato feta and pine nuts, dogs allowed in garden, pub very large and spacious inside, also sold local products, ie milk, bread, cakes fruit and veg. Staff very friendly and accommodating. We saw a herd of deer in field adjoining beer garden and storks in a barren tree, definitely worth a visit.

We visited this pub on a beautiful warm and sunny day. My first time. What a menu! Good Lord. The fish, the pies, the variety - including some vegetarian options - sounded superb. Fish is locally caught and fresh. We had a lamb pie. Absolutely delicious! I'd like this to be my local 😀

Excellent in every way. Good food, comfortable environment, easy parking, friendly staff. Also lovely to find a little village shop area inside. Bought a delicious lemon drizzle cake to share with friends the next day. For those of you who like me, find steps a bit of a challenge, worth noting it's step free both inside and out.

Magical place. Impossible to say how wonderful our visit was. Food was great and can't wait to try more. Contains a farm shop as well. I love quirky so loved this about it. My friend and I sat in enormous club chairs and enjoyed squid in my case and asparagus soup in hers. Both superb. Really recommend but don't blame me if you become addicted. 🙂

Lovely village pub with very nice staff, comfy beer garden. Ideal summer evening relaxing venue. Food / mid July 2023 - fish and chips: a little disappointed for £18: several chips not properly cooked, batter soft, though fish quality was excellent. Not so bad to send back but not quite up to expectation for price. I would still eat here again though. Food / 23 July 2023 - meze starter: took me back to Greece. Very nicely done. Main: Pork belly - exceptional. Beautifully-cooked with a well-chosen accompanying bubble & squeek, apple sauce. Dessert: cheesecake - the right finish.

A lovely little country pub. There is a full farm shop inside the pub itself too. Plenty of outdoor seating. Bookings are essential if you would like a seat inside (visiting on a Sunday). If you are visiting the area and walking on the Kenpp Castle Estate walking loop, you can drop through for a beer or a takeaway ice cream.

Sarurday 7th Oct '23 Fantastic night, The Countryman was holding quiz night which we weren't aware of, however they made us feel included by giving us the sheets to join in. 3 generations of general knowledge and lots of laughs. The food had lots of variety including vegetarian and gluten free, the staff were all very welcoming and friendly with a great atmosphere 😀 Thoroughly recommend The Countryman Inn! Can't wait for our next visit 😍 Thank you to all at The Countryman Inn

19 of us stopped here for a drink during a weekend bike ride on the 1st May bank holiday. Lovely pub, great beers and the shop is fantastic - despite already having had lunch several of the group stocked up on cakes and sausage rolls (to keep them going!). The pub was heaving and outside space limited as the main garden was being maintained but we all squeezed in as tables came free.

Great country pub close to knepp. Lots of walking routes nearby and nice beer garden. Nice food, not lots of veggie options but enough. Saw storks from the garden land on a tree opposite!

Food we had was ok nothing to rave about, my friend had to take bread back because it was stale! The service is awful Landlord and Landlady do not smile or welcome you. I got served at the bar with a nod and no verbal interaction. I felt there are other pubs that are much more welcoming so I will go to The Village House Findon Village, or The Bat & Ball on Guildford Rd etc and give The Countryman a miss.

Best roast lamb I have ever had. I used to cycle here as a teen, it still has the same charm 20 years on. We will be back for a a Sunday roast again!!!

Good, mostly traditional food, with excellent service. Can get busy so best to book. No dogs allowed inside but nice garden if weather allows. Big car park. Curious that pub includes a grocery shop.

A true Country delight, complete with Farm Shop on the premises.. get your tomatoes there! Very comfortable, welcoming and relaxed, fresh fish available every day. Food standard very good indeed. Pub grub and fine dining. I shall return sooner rather than later.
