At last, a proper pub. Everything about the Swan Inn exceeded my expectations. Ample parking, dog friendly, spacious and near the Nature reserve. perfect for a walk then lunch. The food was sublime and made with care, (an anomaly these days for most pubs). The service was friendly and attentive. The perfect 'local' that we've been looking for. It's not our local by any means but would make you want to move into the village just to call it your local. Will definitely be revisiting and often. Compliments to the owners and chef.

This is a little wonder of a bolt hole in the countryside. I stayed for one night in early September. My room was above the pub and I am pleased to say it was very peaceful. The bed was very comfortable and the linen fresh. The bathroom was contemporary and all the basic features that you want from a room for the night were spot on. The food, both dinner and breakfast were simple but very well executed and that's what you want simple stuff done well!! The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful and polite. That included the young "student/temp" staff. The team have nailed it and while I wouldn't say it's a Gasto pub, I'd say that it is an excellent place to stay, eat and relax. Priced fairly and honestly as good things aren't cheap! Well done Team Swan Inn!! A big thumbs up.

This pub is located in a beautiful area with great scenic walks and off road cycling etc yet not far from Bristol, M5 etc. Our room was excellent. Very well appointed with lots of extra included. Super comfy bed and very quiet - had a brilliant night's sleep. Staff are really friendly and helpful and the food (had both supper and breakfast) are delicious - service was excellent. Highly recommend.

We had a lovely stop over on a Sunday night. The staff were very welcoming on our arrival and it was a simple checkin procedure. Our room was excellent with first class toiletries and tea and coffee making facilities plus comfy bed. Our dinner was delicious and plenty of it. There is beautiful countryside around for walks. There was plenty of choice for breakfast in the morning which was provided with first class service. We are looking forward to visiting again. .A thoroughly enjoyable stay and great value.

Didn't stay over so can't comment as only visited for lunch. Has car park opposite which is free for diners. Very pleasant greeting from Landlord. Has interesting menu choices - the food was lovely. Nice outside area to sit and eat surrounded by hanging baskets and flower throghs (see site pics). We'll be visiting again.

Really nice Sunday Roast! Roast beef was perfect and great beers. Dog friendly, we parked 5 minutes away for a nice walk in the area, their own car park is very busy.

We were a large party of 16 celebrating my Father's 90th birthday. The Team at the Swan Inn were fantastic and the food (from the Sunday Roast menu) was high quality. Overall, a very pleasing experience, thank you.

Having been on a walk with dogs, we came upon this pub fortunately at lunchtime! It is a dog friendly pub so could take them in with us. Friendly staff and excellent food. Nice to be able to have smaller portions of some of the items on the menu. Would definitely recommend.

Had a lovely meal with my family last night. Top rated service and the food was delish. Not a cheap place to eat but it's a nice atmosphere in there. Lots of outdoor seating too. Recommended.

We needed a two night break away from the hustle and bustle of work and The Swan ticked every box required. The accommodation was perfect being in a separate area but near to the main Inn. Breakfast was one of the best we have had, local, fresh and very good quality. We had a Sunday lunch on arrival which was delicious and our meal the next day was just great. If all Butcombe Pubs are of this quality they can’t go wrong. We will be back here and also trying others. 🤩🤩

Stopped there for dinner. Pub was recommended by the lady from nearby petrol station. And let me tell you, what a excellent recommendation. Wonderful place in quiet rural location. Peaceful and very much dog friendly. And food was just excellent. Well worth it to divert from the main road . Please come and stop for a pint or dinner. Plenty of parking as well

What a little gem, great place to stay, great staff, food, room and view. What more could you ask for. The Bar/restaurant has a great country pub atmosphere about it, friendly, warm, chatty, dog friendly and very welcoming. The room I was in was huge, over looking the hills, great views in the morning, the best coffee I have ever had in a hotel room. For the price it was five-star, not expected. I could have sat in there all week and enjoyed the great food, beers and vibe. I will 100% be visiting this place again.

A fantastic one night half board stay at The Swan Inn. First impressions as we parked in the car park was great surroundings and a quiet location, a very warm pleasant welcome from the staff inside, a lovely atmosphere, our room was lovely, comfortable and very clean, it overlooked the front of the Inn. The evening meal was very tasty along with the local ale, it was buzzing inside and this a Wednesday. A comfortable nights sleep followed by a fabulous full English breakfast. This short stay was a delight, thank you to all the bubbly staff that looked after us during our stay. As you can tell, I would highly recommend The Swan Inn, we will be returning.
