Great place to visit for food or drink. However if you are eating then it's advisable to book a table as it gets rather busy. Service was great and the food was excellent. Highly recommend this place.
Fabulous food, staff are very friendly and wonderful atmosphere in this very special village for us. Whenever we get a chance to visit Shere we always make a bee line for The White Horse. Highly recommend.

Me and my husband went here for the first time, it's a beautiful well kept, clean and very friendly pub. The food was delicious and great price. I left feeling very full (if only I had space for dessert) :-) the food was so quick and well presented. It is located in a small but beautiful village, I highly recommend to anyone that's close by to go here you won't regret it! Thank you xx
Very busy place on a Sunday afternoon, but the staff managed brilliantly and delivered great customer service too. Food was beautifully cooked and well presented, all in charming surroundings. Will be back!
My Daughter and Son-in-law have been a couple of times and absolutely loved it. They invited me and my other Daughter on Sunday. ..19.8.18...well it lived up to expectations. ..staff were very welcoming, food was amazing. ..especially the rack of beef. ..village is also very quaint. We will definitely be coming back. MUST BOOK!!!
We were here yesterday, being a Sunday it was busy but the service was second to none. We has our children with our, one being 8 months old and we sat outside (lovely area) but was just to hot so the lady that serviced us came and got us when there was a table free inside and the food came out within 15 minutes of ordering. Great service.
Lots to choose from (almost too much choice) Beautifully presented hot and tasty food. Service is excellent. A couple of minute errors put right in seconds without question-only apologies. The most beautiful oldie worldie surroundings but with a modern approach

A very typical British pub restaurant in a small town Shere. Very cosy atmosphere and can tell the locals will come here for some meals. My wife mentioned the food was very natural taste and tasty pretty healthy. Overall a good place to dine in.
We went on a Sunday and they only served roast dinners which is fine.
They could only seat us in the garden for lunch. Luckily it wasn't too cold. Annoying wasps flying around the table which was not pleasant.
Food was lovely and didn't take long to serve.
My friends had dessert and that seemed tk have taken longer than the roast dinner.
Truly a lovely pub. Great place to relax and enjoy a drink or bring the family for dinner. Love the atmosphere, food and the interior decoration. The dining section is lovely and well set up. Don’t forget this is the pub that the movie Holiday was filmed in :)
The staff are extremely friendly and look after you very well.

We came to the White Horse for Sunday lunch. The food was the tastiest Sunday roast I have had in a very long time. We were served by a friendly observant and unobtrusive person. We didn't feel at all crowded, and the ambience relaxing and charming. Parking was on street, busy but we found somewhere close enough. We'll definitely be back. For those who have a blue light card they also offer a substantial discount.
First time visiting The White Horse and Shere. What a beautiful Hamlet with so much history.
The pub is beautiful and cosy and the food delicious.
The staff were so friendly and personable and in particular Tracy who made us feel so welcome.
I would recommend this pub to everyone, it will definitely not be my last time visiting.

Our 1st visit to the White Horse pub in Shere today and was not disappointed.
A warm welcome, lovely atmosphere and a great menu with plenty of options for either meat dishes and vegetarian and vegan diets.
Audrey served us today and was an absolute delight, the best service we’ve received in a pub, she was happy, friendly and attentive and made time for a lovely chat after our meal. A credit to the team.
Food was amazing! Compliments to the chef and kitchen staff.
Starter - Creamy garlic mushrooms on bruschetta
Main - Mixed grill.
Mushroom and ale pie with roasted baby potatoes and seasonal
vegetables.
Dessert - Hot drink with Cheesecake mini pud.
Would highly recommend a visit here, especially for fans of the film “The Holiday” as this is the pub that features in the film. We will most definitely be back and look forward to a walk around this quaint place.

The White Horse is a chef and brewer pub but is true to its historical roots. A fascinating building with split levels, a wonderful atmosphere, especially around Christmas and as far as local pubs go- absolutely magical. The roasts are lovely and reasonably priced and the staff are wonderful- so friendly and accommodating. We’ve heard a few stories about ghosts over the years but never seen them !
Great pub and Sunday lunch. The Beef rib was the best option. Famous for the movie the holiday. Only downside is super crowded on Sunday even at 4pm. Also there was no apple crumble on the menu which was disappointing.
We (group of 4) had a really lovely meal today (24/09/2023) at the White Horse. Despite being very busy everything seemed perfect from the quality of the food, friendly and attentive service, speed of service and atmosphere. Genuinely could not fault a single thing. Many thanks especially to the brilliant staff who could not have done a better job, (Sorry I did not learn all your names but we were welcomed and served by a brown-haired lady, a blonde lady and also Josh who was named on our receipt). All 3 were exemplary and I must also thank the kitchen staff for the fantastic food.
I couldn’t book a table for long time but now, I understand why.
Visit in The White Horse is and extraordinary experience. Beautiful old building, extremely polite and helpful and menu. OMG. The food in The WH it’s not a standard pub menu. Seafood grill, a few steaks, pies. Everything is absolutely amazing. Whatever you choose, you’ll be very happy.

Mama Mia this place gets 10 points on my list, after a long walk in the hills was time to get some proper food and some drinks so we choose this lovely pub, very traditional look and establish in 1409( I think 🤭) it was super busy but the lovely staff managed to get us a table, food was absolutely delicious and can’t stress enough how tasty was that trio Sunday roast and the Sunday salted caramel desert, I encourage anyone to check this place out and see the pics 🤤
As chain restaurants go, this has to be up there with the best. Food was exceptional, got a midweek offer with a very reasonable set price for three courses, and the venue itself is lovely... If only we weren't here on a mini holiday or we'd definitely be back
Just a four star rating for this place I'm afraid. The food was ok. The fried squid starter was slightly chewy and the batter on the bland side. The slow cooked rib if beef was tasty and the portion side generous. The service seemed to struggle with our startets coming out well before our drinks were served. Other than that the pub itself is pleasant and set in a beautiful village.
Stopped by for lunch today and loved it! Friendly people, great atmosphere, tremendous location, and my 10 oz ribeye was delicious. The menu looked interesting, too, with quite a few dishes you don't normally see at pubs. I'll be back!

Fantastic experience at the White Horse last Friday, Lou was a brilliant host. She was so attentive and went out of her way to check in on us. Thank you Lou for all your help! The signature burger was incredible and would definitely recommend. Shere village is a must visit and so is the White Horse.
Cute little place in Shere village. Didn't try the food but the mulled cider was nice. They have a decent choice of drinks. Staff were very friendly. The pub was decorated for Christmas and was warm and cosy. There is a real fireplace as well.
Audrey was the best waitress we’ve ever had. Special visit from london and we were so well looked after. Food was amazing too. Definitely recommended!
