Newell French Bistro - Sherborne - Photo album

Quirky, intimate dining. A very personal service and excellent value for money. This is one of those rare restaurants where your first visit is almost guaranteed not to be your last.
We went to Newells for dinner on the last evening of our holiday. It's not big inside but their menu packs a punch on flavour. One of their summer soups was coming to an end so I went for that. It was Cold Beetroot and Cherry with Sour Craam, totally delicious 😋 My husband had the Sardines to start
Having been a regular at the Gianconda dining rooms back in the day I was looking forward to honest French bistro dishes like pigs trotter, kidneys , veal tonnato . We were not disappointed. Puddings were amazing . Superb value at 26.50 for 3 courses. I implore you to go
Booked here for Sunday lunch on a day trip to Sherborne. Amazing food, so much choice, brilliant service and all at a very reasonable price. (3 courses for under £30). Will definiitely return.
We did not stay but ate here. The food was superb, would give some famous Parisien restaurants a run for their money. The accompanying wines were fabulous.
Visited with a visiting friend for dinner. Different and interesting choices on the menu and wine list. Very enjoyable meal. Welcoming and knowledgeable service. I hope to visit again soon.
Superb French bistro cooking. Varied menu, attentive and informed service and excellent value. The building a little tired but cosy dining room
Superb food. The three course menu has so much choice and delicious. Fantastic friendly service. Thank you so much.
Fabulous food and very professional all round. Think of exceptional food venues in London, only that we’re lucky to have them in Dorset. The owners have high level training (we understand Paul trained with the Roux brothers) and bags of experience which makes for a slick experience. Overall a massiv
Stayed overnight. Room was lovely, clean, comfy and scandi style. ensuite was great. Really liked the coffee/tea station ( basically walk in cupboard for all rooms to use , providing tea of all varieties, coffee, cold water etc.) a really clever use of space . It is on a main road and junction so
Very good menu for a small restaurant. Good service and pleasant surroundings
Lovely intimate restaurant. Food fabulous. Staff very attentive and friendly.
A lovely, welcoming, informal place with a fab host BUT MAINLY WOW: just an astonishing menu. An absolute joy, interesting food perfectly cooked. We ate and drank *so much* and the bill was extremely reasonable. Highly recommended.
Consistently excellent food. Great service. Highly recommended
