The best pub left in Sherborne! All the staff and Ollie are welcoming, food and drink is superb and even have a pool table, and shelter for us smokers! 100% recommend this pub!
Such a fantastic pub with years of tradition. We love coming in here when ever we down this way......fantastic friendly staff fab Ales & absolutely fab food at such great cheap prices.....Highly recommend.

Went for lunch with my 12 year old son and will certainly return with the whole family.
Had a cheeseburger meal (£5), consisting of 6oz homemade burger with actual grated mature cheddar instead of plastic slice, chunky chips (looked hand cut), and super salad garnish that was tasty, fresh, and crunchy (not prickly lettuce out of a bag)!
You can double the burger up for a paltry amount, but be warned - I hadn’t had breakfast and failed to clear my plate on the standard, same for my son. So unless you have been several days in the wilderness you might struggle.
Not an extensive menu but varied, something for everyone, and a good dozen things I want to come back and try.
I had fizzy as driving, but I did observe a fine looking selection of beers-the proper type.
Staff very friendly, but not swamping, service prompt and efficient.
Some people may say the place needs decorating/updating, I’d tell them to jog off to Wetherspoons if they are more bothered about that than what they are actually being served.
All round a fine establishment.

Immaculately kept affordable beer...only criticism is that they could be a little more adventurous on the selection front..but then it would probably be more expensive..
Visited last month while calling on a local friend I met several years ago while she was on business in the States. Great little place to sit and relax! The bartender (Rachel? Apologies if I have this wrong as I met a lot of people on this trip) was very pleasant and attentive. Highly recommend!
The only proper pub in Sherborne. Great guest beers, very good food, all excellent value. They don't make pubs like this anymore!

This is THE drinking experience in Sherborne. Flag floor and convivial atmosphere. 5 hand pulls provide diverse real ales in excellent condition. We'll priced grub.
On the Casque-Mark Ale Trail although the beers sampled were good (quite a few 'samples' were tried) choices were limited.
Had lunch with friends there. Simple food but well prepared and generous portions.
A basic old fashioned pub in construction, layout and ambience and without pretentiousness.
A good atmosphere also, for 'non locals'

Have been here on several occasions and the beer quality and service has been excellent. There is a constantly changing beer list. Cannot comment on the food as we have not eaten here.
Great selection of ales, ciders and of course a wee dram or 2.

Brilliant boozer - with a clientele where everyone feels part of the scene. And great beer. Would definitely recommend.
