Lovely cooked breakfast . Not many places do fried bread. But it was my birthday. So went here for a treat.
Next visit was a quick tea for us. Everyone enjoyed their dinners
passing this place hundred hundred times every year, this was the first time visit due to everywhere were busy in peak district. arrived 1:30pm on 29th Dec friday. the three courses was £13.50 and it was value for money. the starters, crispy fried chicken and mushroom were ok. the fish and chips was not brilliant, wil not order again. the carvery was good. you can choose one or all three meats. the desserts, apple pie with custard and sticky toffee pudding with custard were good.
Lovely food and service by Dave C tonight for my brothers birthday. Pizzas cooked beautifully. Fast service and very friendly. 👍🏻
Also gave our children some extra Yorkshires and even some meat scraps for our pets. Thanks Dave 👍🏻
We popped in late Sunday afternoon on the chance a table would be free. Despite being extremely busy we were offered a table straight away. It was lovely to spend family time there. The chef at the carvery was so friendly, staff were very efficient and attentive. One member of staff deserves a special mention, Tyler. He's an absolute credit to the team that works there. Thank you Tyler Merry Christmas.
We came as a party of 12 (aged 3months to 80 years) to celebrate our dad's 80th birthday. The staff could not have been more welcoming or more accommodating. The food was great and really good value. Thank you so much for making it such a lovely memorable evening for my dad.
Had mothers day there today 19 March 2023 five of us went we were seated very quickly we had booked the carvery was very good meat cooked perfectly and was delicious good assortment of potatoes and veg we also enjoyed dessert and coffee ☕️ 😋visited yesterday lovely carvery delicious pizza but can't recommend the fish and chips unfortunately everything else good tho
Food was fantastic as always. But what I thought was really great was; the server cut into a new joint of beef and it was extremely fatty and grizzly and he asked for a new joint as it wasn't up to scratch, I thought this was exceptional attitude towards your customers, and just shows how you go above and beyond to make your customers happy.
The only thing I would change would be that we was sat right next to a till and the waiters/waitresses were all gathered around chatting and talking so it was quite off putting while eating our food.
I treated my dad to Sunday lunch with my husband & grown up children.
The staff were friendly & helpful.
The carvery was amazing, the beef was to die for. Our only issue was the plates were extremely hot so they could do with trays like other establishment provide.
Also there were only two disabled parking spaces so myself & my dad had a bit of a walk to the entrance as we suffer with walking difficulties.
Really friendly and open atmosphere. Food is brilliant, plenty of parking. Exactly what you want when you want when you want a pub with beautiful views but don't want to travel into the middle of the country for them
Like to say a big thank you to rob who was serving today for carvery when are baby girl started crying and need to be fed when we took her out came to ask family if she was ok my wife returned to finish her food and he gave her fresh food. Thank you for service really impressed
We enjoyed our stay. The food is amazing. The staff was very friendly and very helpful especially Taylor. They went out their way to make our experience amazing even it's most busy day of the year. Even we got a call to make sure we got right help due we having a wheelchair user.
Absolutely tasty food, the carvery meals are gorgeous and so is the afters, the ice cream strawberry sundae is sheer heaven and its also topped off with cream and shortbread, beautiful!
Excellent food and service. Really enjoyed the meal. Best fish I have had. All the staff were kind and friendly and Dave C really looked after us, nothing was too much trouble for him. We felt very comfortable.
Went with mother inlaw and wife, along with daughter and granddaughter and son inlaw. The chief was so good and nothing was to much trouble. He brought the mother inlaw back to the table in her wheelchair, then brought her dinner to the table. We gave then my daughter's dinner to keep warm as my daughter had to take her crying baby outside. When she came back in the chef gave her an fresh meal to enjoy. What a great man.
The food was Brill and all was nicely cooked and fresh. Have not been for a while but after that visit will definitely be going again.

Went out of way to give extra service for our anniversary cheff came and wished us a happy anniversary. And provided roast potatoes as an extra to our meal another cheff gave my wife a complimentary brownie after dinner, they checked regularly we were enjoying our meal all staff went above and beyond excellent service and quality
Absolutely amazing service and great value for money food and drinks. We were celebrating my mum's 89th birthday that day and the staff went above and beyond to both welcome her, have a chat and without even asking for assistance with getting her carvery meal, there was someone there offering help because her mobility isn't great anymore. Can't praise the staff team enough really. It was just a perfect Birthday lunch together. Also very accessible venue and always been one of my family's favourites.
Have been for several Sunday lunches and never been disappointed, so thought we’d use it as the venue for our family Boxing Day lunch.

After booking, the online pre-order took a little bit to get used to, but it meant that on the day, the food order was spot on and everyone got what they ordered.
The food was excellent (especially the carvery, which was brilliant) and great value for money.
All the staff were lovely - very friendly, polite and attentive.
Have to be honest, the drinks selection is a bit lacking (especially beers) and the place is starting to look a wee bit ‘tired’, HOWEVER, if what you’re after is a great value, decent quality carvery, then I couldn’t recommend this place more highly.
