Best sandwich shop in this neck of the woods by far
Had some really authentic street food at this cosy restaurant. Really excellent service and would definitely recommend, as the food is quite close to what you’d find in India. They also have a great snack selection to choose from.
If you like traditional Indian food then make sure you go here! Absolutely amazing food and so many flavours and spices. Could go here every night! A must have is the bread starter, the dumplings and also the mango bombs starter, they are possibly the best starters I've ever had anywhere
Firstly the staff, they are lovely, informative and attentive. The food we had was incredible. Both vegetarian and meat dishes were full of flavour and well portioned. For four of us we had plenty of food and drink but we didn't come away feeling heavy and full. Just enough. This was our second time coming and we will continue to come because the food is delicious and the price is fair.
AMAZING FLAVOURS! 10000% WOULD RECOMMEND.
We only spent one night in Sheffield and so we were hoping to get dinner somewhere really nice. The owner was able to accommodate us and give us a table despite how booked and busy it was. Quite an intimate restaurant filled with so many Indian memorabilia and decorations that really made the atmosphere 🤍
The Dahi Puri was hands down the best thing I had. It was bursting with flavours!!! Every dish we ordered were great, so warming and went really well with the paratha and rice.
The wait was pretty long to get our food but to be honest, with only 2-3 staff members (2 being the owners), you can’t really blame them. The quality and flavours are too amazing to not visit this place.
Thank you again! Hope to visit again some time soon 😍
Friendly and cosy atmosphere. Very small place so expect to wait for a bit. But everything is worth the wait. Food was amazing and they have the best spiced chai milk shake ever, highly recommend 🤩
Truly amazing food. Couldn't ask for a better meal! We love everything we ordered and love the attention to details. You could taste the love and care the chef has put into their cooking. I would definitely say one of the best curry houses I have ever been to. The owner is super friendly and is a great host. Highly recommended!!!!
Super friendly staff, very relaxed environment, music level perfect.
Loads of Bollywood memorabilia around.
Food was fantastic, best samosa I've ever had and the butter chicken was perfect.
Highly recommended.
Thumbs up cola also gets a thumbs up from me
Food was amazing, extremely flavourful! The owner explained how the menu works, explained the dishes, spice level etc.
There are low amounts of seating, so you 100% should book before going!
Can't wait to go again!
The quality of the food was good but the portion sizes were quite small for the price. It is BYOB too which is a nice touch.
We discovered this amazing place via a Google search when visiting Sheffield for a gig. What a find! A temptingly tasty selection of carefully chosen dishes that bring the feel-good experience of the Indian home kitchen to Sheffield. This family-run restaurants offers a great selection of old favourites and more unusual dishes and a strong selection of options for vegetarians and vegans as well as meat eaters. They also offer an impressive selection of non-alcoholic drinks from Lassis to smoothies and Indian sodas. I would not hesitate in recommending a visit - it will certainly be on our list next time we're in Sheffield.
Stunning and authentic North Indian food cooked and served by lovely and friendly knowledge staff. It was our first visit tonight and we will definitely be returning very soon. My hubby eats meat and I am vegan and the choices available for both our dietary needs was impressive.
Absolutely loved it! Not many Indian Restaurants in UK do the kind of food that's really Indian. I found 5Tara was one who did the authentic Indian food.. From the choice of menu to the serving and plating.. everything was very authentic. Like the taste, atmosphere and the host as well! Would definitely recommend especially to Indians who haven't been here.
Some of the best Indian food I’ve ever had! So different to the heavy old school British curry houses (which I still love…) - super fresh, bursting with flavour, loads of options for veggies & vegans and things on the menu you don’t often see in your average Indian restaurant.
Softest, creamiest paneer I’ve ever had (must be homemade?!), so different to the rubbery stuff you sometimes get & highly recommend the momos. And really friendly staff!
Been to lots of Indian restaurants over the years, especially living in East London for many years and this was one of the best.
Been twice now. Food incredible both times. The Dasi Pura are a must have as a starter. Have had the dhal and the lamb curry as mains, both were brilliant. Definitely worth upgrading the meals to a Thali if you do visit
Service was more like 4.5/5 only busy the place was quite busy we didn't get that much time with the server to get to ask for water and had to flag him down a few times for the bill. However, the food greatly made up for it and as the place was busy and it was only really the owner and one of the staff member so it wasn't too bad. The food service itself was quick and we managed to get starters and mains in the space of 45 minutes. I was unaware this restaurant has only been open for under 2 years but has outstanding food with a lot of options both veggie, vegan and meat eater friendly. The drinks were very nice a wide range of indian drink options I have never tried/even heard of before. I would HIGHLY recommend booking a table before going as there are limited tables.
Wow, amazing little place. We've been looking for good Indian food since the Cutlers spice closed. Lets just say we will be going back again, and again. Fantastic food, service and vibe. Love the authentic menu. The owners are so nice, and I bought a bag. What's not to like 👍
Insanely delicious. I had the burrito as a starter (amongst many other dishes) and it was all really tasty, really spicy. The downside is the restaurant is too small for it's ever increasing popularity. However, that's a minor criticism for probably Sheffields premiere restaurant of the moment.
Just had the chicken momos 🥟 and samosa chat 🥙 at 5tara Restaurant and it was amazing! The momos were juicy and flavorful, and the samosa chat was a burst of deliciousness with every bite. 😋 Can't wait to go back for more! 🌟
