Been visiting the red lion on a weekend now for a while, the pubs definitely gotten busier! Sometimes the staff seem to be struggling (especially this last weekend!) but theyโre always smiling and polite when serving me. The DJ plays some good music thereโs always people up dancing. I always recommend to my friends we start our night at the lion before getting the tram to town! Great pub!
What a spanking little pub this is, the new landlady has done a phenomenal job with making it her own, not only that but she makes sure her customers are well looked after.
Yesterday was a MacMillan fundraiser day where kids were entertained, an afternoon singer enthralled the adults, and the nights entertainment of โMr & Mrsโ by The Quizmaster was an absolute blast, thereโs 2 Quiz nights per week, rock n roll bingo, Karaoke nights, FANTASTIC!!!
Beautiful atmosphere had a great night over the weekend, highly recommend for anyone who likes a nice sup!

Good local pub owned by Greene King. Usually quite busy on an evening. Good selection of beers and other drinks. Always something going on with various quizzes, bingo, pool nights, live music etc - check their website for a list of whats on. Live sports shown on the TV. Staff are very friendly and helpful.
Great for live sports , great range of draft beers . Pool table looked clean and good cloth , nice and clean pub and few tables outside to have a pint in the sun (if it ever comes out lol)
Great pub with screens everywhere for sport plus front and rear beer gardens. Lots of comfortable seating and nice toilets as well. No vaping allowed, which is a shame. Maybe could just advise people not to take the mick with it and consider others. Not a deal breaker, though. Will pop in again.
I would like to thank the staff at the red lion for giving my dad a brilliant send off, even after the fact that the few dripping cakes and butties that I brought in for some of the guests were taken away and disposed, this did not ruin the day, he loved this pub and was a regular for 56 years, I look forward to carry on in this pub in his memory, I wish to apologizes for the food and putting the staff in an awkward position, thanks again to all the lovely staff and their hard work.... Fantastic team, love you all xxxxx

Good pub with a great drinks and a lively atmosphere in the back. Only downside was that the speakers for the DJ are bang next to a table in the back and when the place is full and your only options are to either stand or to sit at the table where you can't hear yourself think you're kind of stuck between a rock and a hard place
