Regularly visit for a meal with family and love the service and food. Recently tried their new midweek Wednesday carvery and it was absolutely amazing! One if the best I've had in a long time. We didn't stay for food, but popped in for a drink at the end of a walk over the Xmas break.
It was lively but not too busy, and the atmosphere was warm and friendly.
The Christmas decorations made the quiet spot we found very cosy and cute.
There is a cheaper pub not far away, but I'd happily still

Great pub atmosphere, full of friendly well mannered locals, many with fussy friendly dogs. I don't have dogs myself, I share my house with cats, but I grew up with dogs and very much like them and they seem to like me too; this gets me into conversations with their owners. Beer choice is very good
We called in on the off chance and got a nice table for 6 people.
The food was good, nice and hot and generous portions.

Popped in for food. Had the sizzling fajitas which were amazing. Great value too. Staff super friendly. We ended up joining the pub quiz, which was taking place. (Tuesday)

Had a great time at the peacock with some friends. We had the loaded Greek style pitta which was lovely for a very reasonable price. The homemade chips are to die for too!

Attractive pub with on site parking. The interior is beautifully decorated and clean. Food is well priced (but I didn't try any so can't comment).
