We've been coming to the Cross Scythes for years - it's a great pub either for a casual catch up over wine or for a full blown meal. The menu changes fairly often and has gotten a bit expensive as of late compared to the rest of its Sheffield counterparts, but it's a good occasion venue where you want to splash out a little more.
Would very much recommend the Sunday roast and you NEED to follow it up with a dessert. Yum.
I have had the pleasure of a few meals here now, all of a superb quality. punching above its price tag, which is very reasonable for the quality of the meals. Friendly and helpful staff and a good selection of well kept beers. we will be back!

Went for Sunday lunch when we couldn’t get in at a nearby well known pub. The food and beer was very good. The vegetables were great and cooked just right for our preference - not cooked to death like other places. The Yorkshire puddings are excellent and a volonte. Service is a bit slow on a Sunday with it being busy so we had to assert ourselves a little.
We called on the off chance without a booking (party of 10!!) 3pm on a Saturday afternoon, hoping we could eat and we were not disappointed. We were seated, together, straight away and the two gentlemen serving us were lovely and very helpful. The food was very good and served very well too. The pub itself is decorated very nicely and it has a lovely atmosphere. We will certainly be going back
Great place to stay !! service was outstanding, staff greeted us upon arrival,quick easy check in ,we was shown to our room, it was perfect, big tv, on suite,balcony with chairs and table, full option of heating…..we went down for dinner service from the table fast hot really nice food, we had a lovely night .
Myself and my sister had a lovely meal last night. The service was excellent. Freddie was a very friendly waiter and looked after us well. We will be back!
Been a few times I highly recommend the gammon with a side salad great staff well kept beer and a really reasonably priced menu for the quality
Delicious food and they were very accommodating when we arrived as a larger group than expected. Some of the portion sizes compared to the price were a little disappointing.

Awful weather, so very welcome after such rainy weather.
I sampled a dry cider, others had coffee, all was very tasty.
We had a kids party here and nothing was too much trouble. The buffet was divine, and the space allocated was great.
Staff were so accommodating and overall just a fab atmosphere. Thank you
