Sunday lunch
Six of us called in for Sunday lunch without a reservation but we managed to get a table.
I thought the choice and quality of the food was very good and it was really well presented.
I found all the members of staff that we spoke too were very friendly and helpful.
Dr,Nick. Called for a drink on the way to Loch Fyne last friday.Staff very helpful so we decided to stay for a meal.
Best decision we made,the Paella was historic and my wifes scallops were cooked to perfection,washed down with a bottle of good white Burgundy at half price,also San Miguel on draught in the bar for starters................I thought we were in Spain!.......needless to say we are booked in this friday for more of the same.
Top place. Good food. good beer. great atmosphere. an all round good pub!
What can i say the best food had in a pub in a long long time. Good pint ,staff very plesant and helpful.Amazing time can not wait to go back.
We have eaten here several times. The staff are very friendly and professional. It is very clean and well maintained. The food is always delicious and well presented. The menu changes are a nice addition to the regular fish and chips etc. Calamari was melt in the mouth perfect and prawn sandwich. Thank you for changing it to a brioche bun. Highly recommended and will definitely be back
This is my local. It's lovely but the prices are extortionate. Today I popped in for a quick drink at lunch, it was £16.60 for a glass of house white wine and a pint. That's insane, you can fly to Barcelona for less!
I have to say though, the food is delicious and fairly good value considering the quality. I like the small dishes and the pasta. Lots of healthier options for a pub.
The decor is quite swanky and the service is good. It's also dog friendly inside and out. The outdoor seating doesn't get much sun in the evening and there's no real garden but there is quite a bit of outdoor seating away from the road which is good for a pub on Ecclesall Road.
Expect upmarket dining and drinks and you'll be happy with what you get. There's a largish private car park which gets quite full.
Initially we thought to celebrate our daughter birthday in other places but she insist to do it here every year, I think we have been celebrating her birthday here for the past 3 years at least
Perfect place especially for outside dining now that the sun is out! The inside is also gorgeous by the way. They have a variety of things on the menu especially vegan options !
The squids were the best in Sheffield according to my partner and the chips were AMAZING! I would go back just for those haha!
The customer service was exceptional!!! Everyone was lovely and really exceeded customer service!!
Loved loved the nourish bowl it had many flavours and it was so refreshing !

First time. We live quite close, in Whirlow. We like to eat earlier than most, which is clearly possible. We had delayed consideration if our wedding anniversary since we had hosted a family event at the time. Friends had recommended you. Booked the night before. I mostly had specials, my wife was a bit more eclectic. We both had pan fried halibut for main. We enjoyed the lot. Service was great and quick.
Nice venue with attractive furnishing and space to enjoy a coffee with a friend. Music through the speakers next to the table was a bit too loud for my preference but I didn’t ask if it could be turned down. Coffee was good but we had to follow up when it didn’t appear after 20 minutes of ordering. Would go again, hopefully service is usually faster.
Good as usual again, never let me down.

We went to the Prince of Wales for brunch on Sunday and it was lovely. The staff are really friendly, attentive and didn’t rush us even though it was getting a bit busy towards the end of our meal. There is a really good choice on the menu and they were really accommodating to some swaps on some of the dishes. Also a really decent price! Would recommend for brunch.
Second time I've been. It's so nice. Food is amazing, staff are wonderful. I can't say enough good things about it! It's worth the money and might be one of my new favourite places.
The staff at the PoW were friendly, helpful, and very polite. Nothing was too much trouble. We were allowed to order off three different menus due to varying dietary requirements. All the food was tasty, well prepared, and presented well. We weren't hurried or rushed, there was a comfortable time between courses.
The only criticism I would make is that there were a couple of chips on the floor on the next table which no one cleared up.
The place itself has a warm, friendly, and welcoming atmosphere. Would definitely recommend to others.
If your looking for a nice place to have a Sunday lunch, this has a lovely interior and a pleasant feel. Plenty of free parking. Sunday menu was varied from just a roast. Five star not given for following reasons. Drinks brought were not correct and had to be changed. Although the roasts were ok they were not exceptional, some meat overcooked and not the nicest cuts (especially on the Trio of Roasts). Cost per meal is also slightly higher than comparison places. This may sound overly harsh, as it is a nice place and it was very full so I'm sure the pressure was on for the staff. Certainly would recommend and return though.

The Prince of Wales in Sheffield is a great Premium Country Pub from Mitchells & Butlers, it really lives up to the category name!
Myself and girlfriend visited on a Sunday for a Sunday lunch having booked beforehand. We were promptly welcomed and shown to our table - all waitresses & waiters throughout our visit were great.
To start, I had the sticky miso oyster mushrooms which I see they no longer seem to offer which is a great shame as these were absolutely amazing. Never had anything like them before, the mushrooms themselves were cooked perfectly, really juicy and flavourful. The sauce on them was 10/10.
For mains we both went with a Sunday roast. I had the pork belly & the other half had the half chicken. We were both very impressed with our dishes, I liked how they brought out your greens on a separate dish too. Gargantuan Yorkshire pudding, roasties, stuffing, gravy and your chosen meat. All was fantastic and faultless! Only side note I could think of would be that it may be preferable to offer a steak knife with the pork belly Sunday roast as I did rather struggle to cut through the crackling with my table knife. I just about managed though, beautiful crackling!
We had ourselves a couple of the House Sodas too as we usually do when we go to a M&B owned restaurant that offers them and they were great as they always are.
I'd fully recommend here for a nice meal out, it's a little pricier than other places but you get what you pay for with great food and lovely service. I'd also recommend booking if visiting on a peak day/time as it was quite busy when we visited on a Sunday afternoon. There is a car park onsite, though the spaces are a bit tight! I'd gladly come again!
Very impressed. The festive menu was excellent. I expected the usual bland mass catering but it was good quality and well cooked. The service was friendly and efficient. It was also very good value for money.

Girls night and ended up having Christmas Dinner.

Came here for a worling lunch, it was very well presented, the food was fresh and of good quality.
Very reasonable pricing given the high standard and appearance of the place.
Plenty of parking too.
Beautiful food, albeit it pricey for a chain and almost double the price for steak here than at Miller and Carter (which is less than a mile up the road) offering the same quality. Nice decor and friendly staff, although service was slow given it was a quiet mid week night in January.
What a truly enjoyable meal we have just had.
The food was hot and tasty.
What a pleasure to be able to talk with each other without having to shout above music.
Would we return... Yes we will.
