I am often go to this beautiful restaurant and always feel happy to be back. Food is out of this world especially lemon sole with capers...I choose this place to celebrate my birthday, I had such a warm welcome from all the team but want to say a very special thanks to my favourite Vito and Giacinto! They made my day so special! Starting with welcome drinks and finishing with a birthday dessert plate, they even wrote in Russian happy birthday ( since I am Russian). All my friends even from London and Birmingham was so impressed and amazed by delicious food and service can’t wait to be back! Thank you so much guys! You are the best!

Try lemon sole from special with capers and carpaccio! Absolutely love it! If you want comfy sits - try outside terrace with sofas!
It was my first visit to Piccolinno's restaurant yesterday afternoon. My girlfriend's and I chose from the 3 course special menu. It was good value for money and the food was excellent. The staff were attentive and the restaurant had a nice ambience. We took our time and didn't feel rushed by the staff.
The only negative was the price of the bottle of prosecco. We felt it it was considerably overpriced but on the whole it was an extremely enjoyable experience.
Fantastic food the steak was cooked to perfection and the service was perfect all the staff very helpful and polite highly recommend
Great food, great service.
Visiting family member for weekend.Went looking for a different place and stumbled across Piccolino. So glad we did. Food and service were excellent. Can't fault anything about it really. Will definitely go again
Loved the Italian set up and good. Me and a bunch of friends had gone for dinner on the eve of our graduation. The pasta was lovely. I don’t remember the name of the dish but it was similar to lasagne. It just melted in my mouth.
Top notch food and friendly and attentive service. Definitely would go again!
Have voted "I like it" but did have issue with the fact that we booked a table a week in advance, and on arrival were told that it wasn't quite ready, and to wait at the bar. 25 mins later, we were finally seated, and compensated (after asking!) with a few measly scraps of bread (would have been outraged if I was expected to pay the menu price of £3.50 per basket!). Having said this, once sat, the food we ordered came very quickly and was all very tasty, and well cooked. I was particularly impressed with the amount if sea bream provided for my money. Overall, experience was ok, and we did go on a busy night.
A better Italian chain. I've seen a rise in the themed chains trying to be Italian and Piccolino is the only one I'd make a coscious effort to vist.
I've taken clietns here for business lunch in addition to visits for pleasure and it is consistently good. Seafood dishes were excellent - cooked with care and attention. As said by others, is a little pricy but (in my humble opinion) worth it.

Excellent food and service. Great atmosphere. Really enjoyed the lasagna but it's been replaced by the canneloni, which was good as well. The pizzas are excellent as well as the garlic bread, bruchetta and calamari. Must try the tiramassui(spelling?). Can be slightly pricy but reasonable, given the quality of food. Excellent wines as well.
Simply amazing!!!! Fantastic service and fantastic food!! I'm currently on tour with the Robert Cray Band and I highly suggest that if you're traveling through the UK. this a must stop in Sheffield! I just may go back again after tonight's show!
The manager was an amazing leader as I watched them all execute their roles.
Food came out brilliantly! It's a true Italian restaurant!
We were (me and other friends) dying of hunger when we pumped into this Italian restaurant somewhere in Sheffield city centre. And we decided we are going in and taking the risk of trying this unyelpped restaurant :D
The food was absolutely great, well cooked and freshly made. Service was very good too, the waiters were very friendly and helpful. I had Calamari and guy next me had some seafood pasta dish and I tried them both :P and they were outstanding.
So, this is a strait 4* restaurant for the level of food and for its soothing atmosphere. The only thing this place might lack is the 'Wow factor' that some place fail to have in their concepts. Worth a visit for sure :)
I second the first post by Yassir N.! I too give this restaurant a four-star.
I came across this restaurant with some friends (Yassir N. being one of them lol) while 'vacationing' in Sheffield, and our experience was unexpectedly good! Especially after our long 'lost' walks in a new city, and refusing to settle for something usual.. The thrill of trying something new as well as our gradual hunger and tiredness have led us to the place right in front of the Winter Garden at the Centre of the city.
We really enjoyed our experience, we ordered mainly pizzas and some side dishes, everything was delicious and cooked to perfection! The seating is spacious and the environment is bright and lovely, we had an attentive and friendly waiter and the service was quick. The bill came out okay too. I would definitely recommend it :)
An excellent addition to Sheffield's current eateries. Piccolino's offers a wide variety of Italian food in a picturesque location by both Millenium Square and the Peace Gardens.
Both the quality of food and the atmosphere provide a very enjoyable dining experience. All ingredients appeared to be of a high quality and fresh providing a thoroughly enjoyable meal.
Delicious italian in new development in Sheffield city centre. The prices are slightly above your standard italian but food more than makes up for it. As is usual with places like this, drink is expensive and really bumps the bill up.
Staff seemed over eager to please and this could get a bit grating, though we did go when it first opened, so maybe they were just being over cautious
Beautiful Italian food with great atmosphere! not cheap though
This is indeed one of the best italian restaurant i have ever been to. The customer service is good and the food was lovely. Even though it is kind of expensive but it is well worth of the price.
Our first try of this chain of Italian restaurants that is slowly spreading north. We dined with our oldest, bestest friends and enjoyed every minute of it. We quibbled about our table and were immediately moved to a better one - the food, wine and general atmosphere were utterly fantastic. Did I mention the food - this is seriously good Italian cuisine.
One of my favourites in Sheffield, Really nice location and the staff are always really attentive and friendly! Never had a bad meal! It is quite pricey though!
Had lunch at Piccolino today with clients.
Firstly, its in an excellent location - the convenience of the city centre, with a lovely view of the Peace Gardens.
The food was excellent, I really can't fault it. I had the Bruschetta to start, which was piled high with jucy fresh tomatoes. For main I had the Anatra Arrosto with a side of Rosemary and Garlic Potatoes. The duck melted in the mouth, and there was plenty of it too (2 legs!), the apples complemented the meat perfectly, as did the red wine sauce. The potatoes weren't over seasoned, but the flavour of the rosemary and garlic really came through.
Service was faultless, especially the guy serving us (tall bloke with a local accent). He was friendly and attentive (but not overly), very knowledgable when it came to the menu and was happy to provide reccomendations.
I'd love to go back in the evening sometime, as I'm sure it wold have an equally pleasant atmosphere.
Excellent service and food, a little pricey but what you would expect for the location.
brilliant food, a little pricey but quality definitely makes up for it. yum yum
Attended for my 30th birthday meal with my partner. We sat in the sheltered outside area. Vito was our server and was lovely. Originally wanted to order a chicken dish but they had run out. So ordered braised ox cheek and i was not disappointed! Staff brought a cake out with a candle and dang happy birthday which was a lovely touch! Thank you!
Went a damp, cold, Tuesday evening in early March.
Greeted by warm and welcoming staff, who made us feel very welcome.
Nothing seemed too much to ask, the staff were very polite, and friendly, like we we're there all the time.
The food was superb, could not fault it, I have a big appetite and didn't order or need to order any sides at all.
Thier 500g grass fed steaks, well, they are the ones to have, probably the best in Sheffield, the salted and pepper lightly charred crust, was simply divine.
Super soft, and melted in your mouth, the chef's really know how to cook and respect a quality piece of meat.
Genuinely a wonderful experience.
This restaurant is in a great central location in Sheffield near Peace Gardens, and offers a great dining experience. We were seated inside in a nice booth, but seating is also available in an outside 'glass conservatory' with heaters.
We ordered a bottle of sauvignon blanc, and were also impressed with the alcohol free options of wine, beer and gin, which was great for those driving. When the wine arrived, instead of being offered a taste as expected, it was poured straight into everyone's glasses. For £40 per bottle, we would expect to taste the wine first, fortunately the wine wasn't corked and was very nice.
To start we ordered bruschetta, arancina, and bruschetta gamberoni. All of the starters were very nice!
For main, we ordered Paccheri All'arrabbiata (pasta & tomato), Merluzzo (Atlantic cod), Orata Al Forno (whole sea bream), and Stufato Di Manzo (braised ox cheek). The food was very nicely presented and tasted amazing! The pasta and sea bream were piping hot, however the cod and ox cheek dishes were barely warm, as if they had been sat waiting for the other dishes to be plated. This was a bit disappointing, but regardless still tasted great. We also had a side of Zucchini, which was crispy and tasty, but quite heavily salted.
Overall, we would return to this restaurant for the delicious food and great setting. The few negatives do not outweigh the positives, but does mean we're giving 4 stars instead of 5.
Fantastic food and perfect service. Vito and all the waiters were super friendly. Definitely a fabulous experience.

I had an early dinner at Piccolino in Sheffield. I ordered Arancini and Calamari for starters, and it came out exquisitely cooked. The squid was soft in texture, but the batter was very light and crispy. For my main course, I had Linguine Gamberoni. The pasta was perfectly al dente. The seasoning was light and well balance, and you can taste the shrimp’s freshness. I had the pleasure of being taken care of by Fabio, and he made sure that the food went out on time and well presented. I am so grateful for the service.
A return visit to this venue and always a nice experience. This occasion the waiting service wasn’t as polished as you’d have expected, we waited longer than average times between seeing menus to ordering, or being offered the next course menu. Food was lovely and tasty on each course. For myself, it was a little cold inside the restaurant. Ample parking nearby.
Would recommend a visit now to taste the menu, as they are offering 50% off the main menu for food until the end of January.
Visited this evening with my partner. Service was excellent, brilliant atmosphere, fantastic food. No faults at all and the place looks lovely decorated for Christmas!
We came here for some food. We hadn't booked and it took us about 10-15 minutes to get a table. They have tables outside but they have heaters so it's fine to sit there. Unfortunately when we went the male toilets were out of order and all the men had to use the disabled toilet downstairs which meant there was a constant queue. They were also unable to serve pizzas for a reason I can't remember, even though we saw pizza looking dishes leave the kitchen. We ended up having a vegetarian pasta and the duck which were tasty, but we got dessert because we wasn't full. They had ran out of 3 dessert options too. It took a good 20-30 minutes for our food to come out, but it was Saturday night and we hadn't booked. It is a nice restaurant it's a shake the pizzas wasn't available. I wouldn't come all the time but as a one off its nice
Delicious delightful food. I've been multiple times, and every dish has been amazing. One of the best steaks my husband has ever had. There is a non-alcoholic cocktail (Kim Sha?) I always order because it is so good. Sign up for the rewards and get even better value for money.
Thank you so much to the wonderful team at Piccolinos for a lovely evening. The best food, outstanding service and overall a quality night. Definitely worth visiting here.
We also want to say a special thank you for accommodating our 16 week old puppy on our visit. We were provided with dog-friendly seating and were very well looked after. 😊
We've been to Sheffield a few times and wandered past this venue and commented on how beautiful it looks. Tonight on our last night in Sheffield, we decided to pop in and we weren't disappointed. It was a beautiful place and the menu choices were great. I had the lasagne and my wife and daughter had the fillet steak (8oz), all dishes were lovely..... and filling. We had excellent service from Fabio so big shout out to him. We will go back if we are ever in Sheffield again.
Just wanted to say thank you for a lovely family lunch! We took my mother-in-law for her birthday and had a great time. The food was delicious, the staff super friendly, and we even got a very enthusiastic performance of 'Happy Birthday' for her as well. My husband has an allergy and this was handled well - his food was separately marked and there was plenty of choice for him. Definitely a top choice for a family friendly restaurant right in the heart of town.
First time coning here with my gf for anniversary and was a pleasure. Wonderful atmosphere, food was great and service was quick. Special thanks Maciej who made our first experience memorable!
Great service for our table of 9. Broad wine selection.
Crab ravioli was perfect, can also recommend the ox cheek (stufato di manzo). The two vegetarians dining with us were pleased at the range of options.
First of all, I want to thank Ramona for the great service she provided. I was eager to try their lasagna since I heard from my buddies that it was really tasty and it did not disappoint! The atmosphere is lovely and the food is delicious. I will make sure to come by another time to try their other meals when I'll be free to do so.
Food was great, and the service was excellent. Would definitely recommend
I had the ox cheek and my husband had the cod, both cooked excellently and the portion sizes were fairly good too
Recently dined at this spot and was thoroughly impressed. The vegan pasta I ordered was an absolute delight. The staff were not only friendly but also great conversationalists. Plus, the spacious interior and captivating atmosphere only added to the charm. A must-visit!
